This place is perfection! I want to live here. It’s beautiful inside and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I had Chimay ale grande reserve on draft, and my partner had a plate with hummus and lentils. The hummus tasted homemade. It’s the best I’ve had outside of Turkey.

I showed up at 10:01. Said they can’t serve me food. Kitchen closes at 10. Drove over a hour to get there. I guess places change. They didn’t act like that 9 years ago. I was most impressed that everyone that worked there was so willing to tell me where else was open to eat.

I have been in Athens a week enjoying the dining and it is good. The Globe was the worst experience I have had in a restaurant maybe ever. I was given a hamburger that had a bun that was so wet that when you (tried) to pick it up it was just mush. The waiter said “that’s weird” and brought me a fork. She never looked at my table again, never brought water which is ok and never offered more soda. This was lunch, 2 waitresses for maybe 8 people and they did not seem to want to be there. I tip a minimum 20% but 30 plus on small purchases like this. They received ZERO which I never do.

I used to love the Globe, so on a quick trip downtown, I tried to treat the kids to a nice meal and a cocktail for myself. I feel like the waitress couldnt have been more rude , or inattentive if she tried. Three tables in the entire place-so no not busy. The folks seated after us got drinks, menus, and ordered before we even got a chance to. We were not offered kids menus, as they were so I had no idea that was an option and ended up ordering way overpriced food they wouldnt even eat. I had to go to the bar to get my own drink because the wait staff cant be bothered to check on their tables, and we werent even offered boxes for the leftovers (well couldnt ask either bc again no waitress). Dont waste your money here. its not what it used to be and with rude staff like that it never will be.

Excellent food and atmosphere. I had the Reubens sandwich and it was very good. You must try the chips with gorgonzola cheese sauce. Incredibly unique and delicious.
