I recently reviewed this establishment for my facebook blog: SouthrnGritsKitchen. The food was fabulous, the service was perfectly splendid, and of course who wouldn’t love the atmosphere of this place. I love the vintage chic vibe that’s portrayed at The Ginger Root, it goes hand in hand with the majority of their menu. Chef Justin has impeccable talent. Definitely worth the drive. Might I add, their potatoes are homemade can’t believe every review you read .

The pork belly and Brussel sprouts were amazing! The shrimp was good, mashed potatoes were instant (not a fan), collard greens (not the hype they portray online) they were just “ok”. The grouper and risotto were good. It was busy so service was a bit slow but overall; nice place. We will be back ❤️

The waitress was so sweet and very helpful! The food was very delicious, felt very upscale but hometown friendly. Only recommendation is to use less salt, but other than that it was perfect!

I had the pleasure of spending an evening with my daughter here. The meal tasted fantastic as was the dessert. The owner took care of our table and they got very busy but handled the challenges well. We will be back.

Hands down one of the best experiences we’ve had in this area! The owner has great visions and makes you feel at home! The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I asked to go for my wedding anniversary because I’ve heard nothing but good things. Looking forward to visiting again!

My family and I just had dinner at this restaurant. We were ignored by our server for 30 minutes. The only saving grace this place had was the young hostess that greeted us and was phenomenal. She was very friendly and gave us some assurance and took our appetizers and drink orders to keep us at bay. Unfortunately, this was the extent of the hospitality we received from the wait staff. The GM(I presume) took over taking our orders and ensured we got our food and was taken care of. From our observation, after we had to flag down our designated server, she never returned and the GM took over. There was an additional 30 minutes from the time that the hostess took our initial drinks and appetizers that she(the hostess) had asked to see if our sever had taken our order. It wasn’t until flagging our server and being stern about our wait did any meaningful service was given to us. My family and I were extremely disappointed in our experience. The food was average overall, but decent for the area. The service severely impacted the quality and experience.

My family and I ate here 2 weeks ago. We had shrimp and grits, fried shrimp, and fish tacos, for dessert, we had Creme Brulee. Each of these dishes was perfection! The service and atmosphere were outstanding! I can not wait to go back!

Wow, wow, my wife and I had a lovely time. The food was excellent, and the service was by far the best I have received. The place was very rustic. The manager purchased some flowers for my wife and had a bottle of wine at the table for our 10th anniversary.!!!

We have eaten dinner there twice, The collard greens alone are worth the trip there. Have not had anything from there that was not good. Great atmosphere and easy listening music during dinner. We definitely will go back.
