Visited during Happy Hour and tried a variety of drinks – a few hot/coffee cocktails, martinis, and Mules. All drinks were $5.50 and tasted good!

Just a cool ‘basement bar” with a different vibe than any other place in Vail. Great beer selection. Sofas and big bar: Excellent bartenders (Zach). It’s not for “fancy people”, but if you’re normal you’ll love it here.

Very good food and service. We took advantage of happy hour and had the plum duck and steak with a chocolate martini and Manhattan. Drinks were $5 and food was 25 (I think). Very few people there which was nice. No reservations or extra fees. It was a dive bar with personality but surprisingly kid friendly. In the basement from street level.

Good pub menu. They had vegetarian options. Good beer selection. Great service— wait staff kept our water filled! This place is not at street level —you have to go down a flight of stairs. The walls are covered with pictures of famous Georges. A fun visual puzzle while you eat.

Gorgeous river view, really excellent port and port cocktails, and friendly, attentive service—you can’t go wrong! I gave food four stars because they only have little snacks. I did like the olives I had. And docking one star from atmosphere, in the interest of being fully forthright, because I don’t love the music. But I’d gladly come again and again.

They call this the dive bar of Vail, or at least I heard that a few times. Doesn’t really represent what I call a dive bar but the atmosphere was chill on a Thursday night, very friendly staff and the food/beer was delicious. I recommend the duck. Yes, duck served at a “dive” bar in Vail 🙂

“The best steak in the valley” is what a local had to say when I asked for their thoughts about the George Restaurant & Pub. Tonight, I had the delicious fish and chips, which I would order again. Michael is an outstanding guy, bar tender, and server!

Cool lower level bar with plenty of TVs to watch a game. Had a very light crowd the summer night we were there, but in the winter after a full day of skiing, I could see a line out the door and a packed bar with a mix of locals and tourists.

I have been coming to The George for over ten years on trips to Vail. Always delivered as a fun location with reasonable prices. Really disappointed in the change in service and prices since Mountain Haus purchased the building. No draft beer available, poor service, and now sky rocketed prices for a canned beer served in the can. This place USED to be the spot for a great value a year or two ago. 100% not the case anymore. Spend your happy hours elsewhere.

This was a very interesting place. They have all kinds of artwork and posters all over the walls. I have never been tempted to take a picture of a men’s room before but I actually thought about it this time! Lol The service was great but we went fairly late so there were not too many people eating. We ordered the surf and turf. The crab legs were awesome (but usually are). We upgraded to the filet because we shared a plate. They didn’t seem to mind or charge us more because of it. We had to send the filet back for more heat but after it came back out, it was perfect. We never send anything back but even the waitstaff took a look at it once I cut it in have and said “Do you want me to have a little more heat on that?” She didn’t even wait for and answer but could tell we agreed when she grabbed up the plate. It was hard to tell if it was more bar or restaurant. There was a bar for drinking, of course, and tables for eating but they also had couches and chairs around coffee tables. I think we could have a good time with a large group there as well as an intimate dinner for two.
