A VT country store packed with options for fresh cooked food and Maple Cremees year ’round. That’s right, all year, like it ‘oughta be. Big menu includes breakfast, lunch and vegetarian options. They have a nice sunny outdoor covered picnic area and indoor seating so you can stop, get a build your own sandwich or grab ‘n go salad and drink and take a minute to actually enjoy the fresh flavors. ATM. Small coffee bar with VT Coffee options. They have a grocery section, local cheeses and meats, an entire case of Ben & Jerry’s pints, beverages, a produce case, snacks and local crafts like soap, cards and ceramics for a quick thoughtful gift in a pinch. Plenty of parking out back and on the side. Clean sunny and friendly people.

I was driving from Craftsbury up to Newport, passing through Albany when I came upon the Genny. I found the grocery area well stocked, a deli counter and an area to eat with tables and chairs. A very welcoming sort of place!
I had the crispy chicken wrap, loaded with lettuce, onions, and pickles. I opted for the plain chicken (not buffalo) and the ranch dressing (instead of blue cheese). I was originally going to take it to go, but remembered I was having a relaxing day and enjoyed it at a table. It was awesome – the chicken was crispy and hot (temp wise not spice). Definitely recommend!

Stopped to get a coffee and use the restroom in the early afternoon. Coffee was out, but they quickly made a fresh pot. Decided to get a sandwich and tried the falafel wrap…delicious! Young man behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful.

We always love stopping in here for last minute essentials and perusing the goods, which there are many. But we stopped in for breakfast sandwiches yesterday and the chap behind the counter was super awesome. He made us really great sandos and I’m pretty sure he hooked us up with the good bagels because I was eyeing them. Just wanted to say thank you!

The service here is amazing, the food is so good, and they have a backroom to eat at. A woman had come up to me and was yelling for no good reason and the staff handled it very well and it was very impressive. Left 11 dollars for tips these guys too good

The Genny is an absolute gem of a place! THE FOOD IS AMAZING! The beat smash burger around! The staff is wonderful! They are friendly, and always greet you with a smile. Made a quick stop on my way to work to grab a breakfast sandwich and coffee. They had a couple of freshly made ones ready to go! With my sausage-egg-and-cheese and coffee, I was able to get back on the road with a happy belly and warm yummy coffee as company. Great food, great service!

From the employees to the owners and everyone you’ll meet in between at the Albany Genny every one makes you feel like a friend. When it comes to the food they bring the flavor, from the breakfast burritos to their smash burgers everything tastes great and is made to order (they do have a grab and go for fast options). Next is the service it’s rare that I’ve gone into the Albany Genny and not found what I was looking for but when that has happened I’ve always been met with a smile and “I can check back stock Rick if I don’t have any ill have more (insert delivery day here)”. The kitchen staff is also very nice and professional they listen to allergies and always wash their hands and change gloves. All in all if you’re looking for a country store feel with good food and friends look no farther than the little store we all love here in Albany, The Albany Genny.
