The General is Marina’s go-to neighborhood bar, known for great drinks, a diverse crowd, and a relaxed local vibe. Our bar sits on the former Fort Ord Army base and features the original 82 year old bar top from the historic Stilwell Hall, restored as the centerpiece of our space. We proudly support local veterans by partnering with the Veterans Transition Center and donating a portion of our sales. Best cocktails in the area! The bartenders here know what they are doing. I’ve yet to order a drink that I didnt fully enjoy. They have 5 TV’s showing all the sports. This bar is a must try. Check it out and support a great local business with the nicest people.

I am convinced that after 6 different bar visits while driving through California, this is the only bar you should ever consider visiting here. Bisher and Jazzy are the most accommodating, knowledgeable bartenders in the area and they know how to make a well balanced, worth-while drink.
The atmosphere is calm while feeling cozy and personal with bartenders that are just talkative enough and knowledgeable about the area and localities.
Don’t skip this place, or you’ll miss some of the finest service in the state and decent prices + Mediterranean food options to boot. (hummus, tatziki and spanakopita are incredible options)

Great casual neighborhood bar with good inexpensive happy hour. The deals are incredible for the area. Portions are huge. Go to the bar and you get full service and will get your food plated with silverware as opposed to if you order out front. Bar has a great draft beer and liquor selection. Pretty impressive for the size. Definitely making this a regular stop. Thanks for bringing this to Marina!

What a wonderful experience! My fiance and I are visiting the area for the weekend and I was looking for a place that had vegan options, chill vibes, and great energy.
I was a bit thrown off when I thought it was only a restaurant… only to discover a speak easy with TOP service (Bisher helped us tonight and he was so informative about the establishment, gave us great feedback and service, and was just simply wonderful to interact with!)
I was impressed and floored with the food, service, and drinks! The beer selection was awesome and I loved my whiskey peach cocktail! Bisher went above and beyond and we plan to make plans to stop by one more time on our way out!

I really cannot speak more highly of this place. If you’re nearby or even not nearby and want to experience phenomenal customer service, amazing food, and a good atmosphere, you should definitely stop by. We stop by last night because we were looking for a place to just relax at the end of the day and we’re thoroughly impressed by the bartenders, Bisher and Jazzy. Bisher made a couple custom cocktails and Jazzy recommended some epic tequila. After five failed bar attempts this week, it was a very nice to find good bartenders with a good attitude and a variety of drink choices.
On top of the amazing service, excellent drink selections, and custom cocktails, the food on the second day was above expectations. The bread is freshly made, The taziki and hummus were a refreshing treat, and don’t get me started on on the entree.
Definitely highly recommended tucked inside of their Mediterranean restaurant.

It is family owned and that shows in the quality of both food and drink. (They are also SO friendly.) It is a full bar with 12 taps and a large selection of wine. I had the gyro with all the veggies (very fresh and crunchy) and tzatziki, as was recommended. Absolutely would recommend it too. The pita was freshly made in house this morning and due to the amount of fillings was more like a Mediterranean taco. The dolmas were melt in your mouth delicious! Baklava was delicate and sweet without overdoing it.

Outstanding cocktails, the best we’ve had in the county, and reasonably priced. Good food and great service! We chatted with the owner who even brought us a couple of shots of their newest tequila to try. We’ll definitely be back 😉

Great place. It’s very surprising how well Mediterranean food works as bar food. Good variety of drinks including the Mail Tai IPA and the hummus and pita are the best I’ve ever had. Strongly recommend.

The General is the bar side of Dametra. I got the pomegranate margarita. So yum! The real reason I go, though? They have the BEST food! Their ‘plate it’ comes with rice, salad made with all fresh veggies, a meat (or non-meat) on top, pita, and two sides of your choice. Mine are always hummus and tzatziki.
They also have incredible service with the kindest people working there. I go at least once a week. See you there!
