Nice concept and really nice atmosphere. Interesting cocktails and snack menu; Escargot puffs were really good as welll as A Dame to Kill For.
Having to wait for the hostess and then being told that being late would eat into our 90 minute slot… Especially when it wasn’t busy/full night by any means set a bad tone to start, but the rest of the staff were great and welcoming.

Loved this bar, it has a fun way to enter. The decor and atmosphere is so cozy, perfect for a winter evening. The drinks were delicious and we got the charcuterie board which was bigger than expected. I texted a friend while we were still there to make plans to come again.

We loved visiting here! My boyfriend’s never been to a speakeasy. The service was great, the decor was beautiful, and fun!

Not the best food selection however you’re there for the drinks and atmosphere. We didn’t get a hummus plate and it was great.

I had the most amazing time at the Gatsby last month – I made so many memories I’ll never forget. Someone who made my experience unforgettable was a staff member, Autumn. She was so helpful and made me feel like family. I will def be returning!

The atmosphere is very speakeasy. We had reserved a seat in “the library” and ended up in an alcove near the bathroom with no books in the room and there were plenty of better tables available. (recommend bar room seating) Our server Nora was lovely, knowledgeable and explained the cocktails in depth including the experience of drinking them. We ordered the charcuterie board and it took over an hour for it to come out and they never did bring me the gf bread i was offered. Then at 90 min the hostess came around telling us our time was up but we could continue to enjoy our food downstairs. To reiterate, we ordered promptly but it took THEM over an hour to bring the food and now we’re are being told we’d have to uproot if we wanted to finish our food? When we tried to explain the situation, we were basically told not my job to concern myself with why, mine is basically to tell you your time is up. This is ridiculous service especially given prices. The place was not packed like they needed the table either. I wish i could give it 3.5 overall because of Nora, the ambiance and the cocktails but some of the other experiences detracted from our experience enough i went with a 3.

If you’re looking for a true speakeasy experience, you should definitely try this place out. There are a lot of good cocktail options but consider going off-menu if nothing resonates with you, as Stephanie and Noelle are true mixologists. The food is fine (bacon-wrapped dates are even delicious) and there are a decent amount of options, but if you’re coming to a speakeasy for food, you’re there for the wrong reason.

There was a super sweet and accommodating redhead hostess Molly. She was so nice and handled the stress of rush hour great! Loved the vibes of the speakeasy. Thanks molly!

I’m hesitant to write a review because I want to keep this place from getting any more popular than it already is! My girlfriend and I visited on a Saturday night. We had to wait about 30 minutes for space to open up, so we had a drink on the main floor to pass the time. Once we got upstairs and went through the exciting entrance, we were greeted by an amazing staff. Nathan Connor and Collin were some of my favorite bar staff I’ve ever been served by. They made incredible cocktails, including some delicious iterations on my favorite, Trinidad Sour. They also made fun conversation and really made the whole visit special for us. This is easily one of my favorite bars I’ve been to and definitely my favorite in Chicago. We’ll be back!

Solid speakeasy. Great cocktails and ambiance. Our server Nora was amazing and knowledge. I spoke to her about the type of drinks and flavor profiles I preferred and she recommended a couple of amazing cocktails. I’ll definitely be back!

I was able to walk in on a Wednesday (with a short wait, we had a little dinner at first floor Bourgeoise Pig while we waited), but over the weekend I’d suggest getting a reservation (through Open Table, I believe, until they get a website separate from TBP).

This place has a wonderful, cozy ambiance, and the way you “sneak in” to the speakeasy is a lot of fun. The drinks are delicious and I had a great time chatting a bit with the bartender, getting a dealer’s choice cocktail. The “Flowers for Daisy” from the menu, pictured, was also delightful. And on the way out, we were able to roast some marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit, for a fun end to the evening.
