The food was fantastic, especially for vegetarians. The fresh bread with garlic butter was addictive, and the artichoke dip was fabulous. The creamy mushroom penne was rich but balanced, the veggie pasta was super comforting, and the chocolate mousse was the perfect finish, light, silky, and indulgent.
Big shoutout to our server Matt, who took amazing care of us. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, he made the whole experience even better.
Great food, cozy atmosphere, and standout service. Definitely coming back next ski trip.
Word to the wise…. Go to the back door tucked away at the Olive bar entrance. We bellied right up to the bar. Ordered a bottle of Montepulciano d’Abrruzo (reasonable at $40) and was swiftly treated with garlic and bread. An amazing start….. there is a tapas menu, I ordered tuna tartare, marinated mushrooms and the escargot. Followed up my home run meal with clams over linguine.
I was very pleased with all my food. The bar is busy. Many are having drinks waiting for tables. Hats off to the bartenders that were hustling to make our experience Devine.
The fresh bread with roasted whole garlic, Parmesan and olive oil was so good and they brought us a second baguette as we had mussels and spinach Italiano to start. Good selection of beverages – local brews on draft. The kid’s menu has a choice between a pasta dish – linguine or penne with marinara, butter or puttanesca – with meat balls as an add on. It is a lot of food for a kid and we brought back leftovers. My husband enjoyed his ahi tuna with potatoes and roasted tomato. My chicken piccata was perfectly cooked and flavorful with the capers. We were full, but could not resist ordering the tiramisu. The tiramisu was light and not overly sweet with drizzle of chocolate, lady fingers with a dash of espresso.
Definitely worth coming back next time we come out to ski in Killington.
Love the roasted garlic with the complimentary bread
Pork osso buco 10/10
Artichoke dip 9/10 (only reason its a 9/10 is cuz i am being picky and dont prefer the thin crunchy baguette slices)
Server (jaymie) was super nice gave great recommendations and even boxed up our leftovers for us.
**Note: the chocolate tart we got served as dessert was mis-advertised as a „mousse“. Though a faux pas in my eyes, the tart was still pretty electric.
Before you read my review below , I want you to consider the difficulty to running an establishment like this 365 days at this location is quite challenging. I would normally give it a 4 stars, but considering the location and its competitors, a solid 5 stars is a must.
I’ve stayed at an Airbnb near Killington a few times for skiing, and to say the restaurant scene here is “average” would be generous. Last time, while driving past this restaurant with its massive garlic statue and a line of people waiting outside, I knew I had to give it a try.
The next day, I found out it operates on a first-come, first-served basis, which explains the early line. If you’re not a fan of waiting, don’t worry—it’s worth it.
The Garlic has a charming, cozy atmosphere, with decor that makes it feel like a rustic farmhouse in winter, creating a warm and inviting experience. Service is friendly and efficient, and the food is consistently great. While the pasta was a bit underwhelming—not bad, just not particularly exciting—the veal and steaks were cooked to perfection. The eggplant Parmesan looked surprisingly light and fresh, the wine selection was solid, and the dessert was simply delightful. Did I mentioned the garlic spread bread?
This restaurant has completely changed my perception of dining in this area, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more.
