We held my daughter’s bridal shower at the Gables this past weekend. Everything was excellent. Our guests enjoyed the venue and the food was excellent. We had short rib, chicken piccata and salmon. In addition the vegetables were cooked perfectly. I was concerned about having the party here while the construction is going on. The staff alleviated all my concerns and helped guests to the correct entrance.
I highly recommend the Gables.

This place was so cute! My cousin had her bridal shower here. The exterior is beautiful and the inside is spacious! The people who were working there made it even better! The best hospitality I’ve received in a long time. The food was good too. Nothing to rave about but it was also pre-set meals, made for about 60 people. I imagine that their food is really good though if I ordered for myself. Also, the drinks were great! It was a coffee-themed event, so I got an espresso martini & it was the best one I’ve ever had.

We visited The Gables for Saturday brunch, and while the ambiance was charming and the restaurant itself filled up quickly, the food didn’t come close to meeting expectations—especially at the price point. It’s the kind of place nestled in an affluent area that seems to justify its costs with atmosphere rather than flavor.

I ordered the Gables Omelette because it has goat cheese (which is a favorite of mine) and added crispy prosciutto for a salty, savory kick. What I received, however, was a bland omelette made with a completely different, milder cheese—either mozzarella or a basic cheddar. Confusing and disappointing. The home fries, oddly enough, were the best thing on the plate: crispy, salted, and well-executed. When I mentioned the issue, the waitress (who was kind but rarely present) had the dish remade. The second try still lacked seasoning and was missing the prosciutto. At that point, I gave up.

My friend ordered the Crispy Chicken and Doughnuts, a dish that promised apple cider doughnuts and hot honey on the side. Instead, she got plain glazed doughnuts and the most under-seasoned chicken either of us have ever tasted—well-cooked, thankfully, but utterly flavorless. The hot honey sauce arrived late and turned out to taste like duck sauce with a dash of smoked cayenne—an odd, jarring choice.

Our drinks? Her mimosa tasted like it was made with store-bought Tropicana, and my pomegranate mimosa had no discernible pomegranate—just a lone raspberry floating in sparkling wine. Visually pretty, but not much more.

The service wasn’t outright bad—our waitress was friendly and did have my dish remade—but she was hard to find, even before the rush. At one point, another server had to fetch her when we needed something. As my friend said, she’s had better luck sitting at the bar during happy hour when staff are more attentive, and she’s genuinely enjoyed the cocktails then.

The restaurant itself is visually appealing, clean, and looks like a lovely venue for private events. The ingredients seemed fresh and nothing was over- or undercooked—but flavor, detail, and attentiveness were seriously lacking. Brunch was a miss. I might give them another chance at dinner or happy hour, but as my friend put it perfectly: “If they were invited to the barbeque, they’d be responsible for bringing the chips.”

Place was very clean and inviting. The music was pretty solid as well. The drinks for brunch were reasonably priced and the food as well with very generous portions. Was checked on quite a few times for not only our food but the drinks as well. Staff was super friendly and very inviting. The meatballs was meatballs inside of a French onion soup type which shocked and awed me. The shrimp and grits are top five I’ve ever had, and the French toast was flavorful and fluffy. This might just be a staple for brunch in the upcoming future.

I attended a baby shower event at the Gables. The staff was very accommodating in making sure that my food was safe from gluten. I really appreciated the above and beyond they did to prepare separate food for me at this event.

This is a beautiful restaurant with many seating options both indoors and out. Unfortunately, the food and drink were not as enjoyable as the atmosphere. My husband’s burger was decent and the fries were good. I got the veggie sandwich and it severely lacked flavor and was very runny from the veggie juices. It has pesto and cheese, but both were minimal on the thick bread along with a severe lack of general seasoning.
We both got a beer and water, which had odd smells and flavors, almost as if the lines for the liquid weren’t cleaned enough. Both my husband and I worked in the restaurant industry, including bartending, for many years, and the smell/flavor is pretty hard to miss.
Overall, I would still recommend trying this spot out to get your own thoughts. Their menu was enticing and perhaps, many items were better than the sandwich I got. Also, we did visit at a slow time which ultimately could impact aspects of our visit.

I stopped in for dinner on a whim with my family. It was my first visit, but certainly won’t be my last.

The atmosphere was inviting, the service exceptional. And the food was splendid!

We started with a cheese board featuring three different cheeses and various toppings. For our main courses, I had the seafood special — a fish filet wrapped around lump crab meat and shrimp, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was outstanding. My wife had a lobster ravioli, and my mom had a salmon risotto.

Although we skipped dessert (the portions are quite copious), we saw a nearby couple sharing a dessert which looked good.

I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent service, enjoyable atmosphere, reasonable prices, and most of all, its delicious food.

We had our engagement party here and it was a dream. Kayla made the process so easy & care free. We are not huge planners but she helped us every step of the way. She was very flexible and accommodating for us. The day of the party everything turned out beautiful. The space is so comfortable and picture perfect! The food and drinks were phenomenal, all of our friends had a wonderful time!

My best friend and I planned her couple’s shower at the Gables. From the beginning, their team was incredibly professional, responsive, and thorough in communication. Planning a shower like this and this size can be stressful, but they made the entire process feel smooth and well-managed.

When we arrived for our tasting in March, we saw some active construction on-site. The team had already informed us that the work was delayed, but it was for the restaurant and would not affect our event venue. By the date of our event, the grounds were beautifully finished, and there was a wall that concealed the work from our venue. When we arrived on the day of the event, everyone was welcoming, and there was signage directing us where to park and where to enter.

Throughout the planning process, it was stressful as I did not live close and communication was mostly through email, my emails were answered by the owner directly, and even after hours to accommodate my work schedule.

She updated me regularly, never left us guessing, and was always transparent. One week before the shower they allowed us to stop by again, and we were so impressed with how polished and picture-perfect everything looked. It was exactly the venue we signed up for — actually, better

The shower was a blast our guests are still talking about how beautiful the venue was and how well-run the whole day felt.

All in all, our couples shower was not just beautiful, it was stress-free and incredibly well managed. The team at this venue truly delivered — and I would recommend them without hesitation.

We held our daughter’s baby shower at the Gables at Chadds Ford today. To say that it was amazing is an understatement. Carol and Jess were spectacular. They made us feel so special and they were absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing. The place was immaculate. We would highly recommend this venue for any special events you are planning.
