I have celiac disease (100% wheat intolerant), so finding a (good!) gluten free sandwich in Fairbanks has been been tricky over the years. I stopped in The Fudge Pot today to inquire about gluten free options, and learned they make gluten free sandwiches! Gluten free breads and baked goods are usually hit-or-miss, but I am so happy to report the GF sandwich I ordered today is THE best I’ve had in Fairbanks! Plus, the staff were incredibly kind. I’m excited to have a place to eat downtown (same building I work in) that is safe for me to consume.

The atmosphere and workers were great. Got a tuna salad sandwich for $16 and I couldn’t taste the tuna because there was hardly any on it. I understand things are more expensive here, but it just seemed like a lot for bread, a slice of tomato, leaf of lettuce and smear of tuna salad.

I ordered a PB&J, hot coco, chips, and fudge. The fudge and chips were good, hot coco was bitter, PB&J was NOT made on sourdough as requested, way too little jelly, and was stale/hard to eat.
my boyfriend got also a hot coco and grilled cheese on sourdough. hot coco once again bitter, and the grilled cheese was literally bread and cheese. no butter, no seasoning, wasn’t good and hardly tastes like sourdough.

What a hidden gem! Located in Fairbanks The Fudge Pot is a nice elegant spot to have a quiet bite to eat. I had the salmon chowder which while it wasn’t thick is was filling. It came with toasted bread that was the perfect compliment to the meal. Its sad to see the location so empty but at the same time it allowed my partner and I gentle place to relax.

The Fudge Pot might have changed hands, but they haven’t missed a beet.
The pasta salad had so many wonderfully delicious surprises. The BLT was loaded with crispy bacon.
Walking into this beautifully lit, local treasure is refreshing and inviting.
This is a must try while shopping in downtown Fairbanks

Nice and cozy place. Very spacious dining room, great for hanging out and reading a book or doing crafts. I tried their watermelon fudge and it was quite good. Nice little place to get gifts, fudge, lunch, and drinks.

I LOVE THE ESPRESSO SHAKE FROM FUDGE POT! The best coffee shake I’ve had in my life so far, thick and creamy and coffee-ey! So good! Their sandwiches are great too! Great cafe for a nice lunch or brunch! Such a lovely treat! They also have delicious fudge and caramel apples! Will definitely keep going back here!

Strolling downtown Fairbanks, and I had to stop here. Fudge is one of my favorite desserts, and the selection here was amazing! Combinations and flavors of fudge I’d never seen or tasted before.
They allow you to sample, and there are tons of options- not only fudge, but several other things chocolate. I couldn’t decide on one, so I grabbed a box with a few different flavors. This place is a MUST, when just strolling around downtown!

I stopped in here for lunch while my laundry was running in the hotel in staying in next door. It’s a small but inviting place with a lot of dessert options available on display when you walk in. The main attraction on their shelves was the fudge that they draw their name from. But this is also a coffee cafe, eatery and a small gift shop. I browsed through the store briefly while the customers ahead of me made their order.
For my lunch I had the soup of the day – salmon chowder. I also had their fuzzy moose latte, which was flavored with mocha, caramel and almond if I recall correctly. Both were very good! I cleaned up the last bits of the chowder with two triangle slices of homemade sourdough bread that I had ordered extra. I enjoyed being able to look out the window while I dined here. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant lunch or a great coffee. I did not try any of the desserts they are known for.
