I’m a Scot here on vacation and being Scottish I reckon I know a thing or two about fish suppers and I can tell you for sure that was one of the best fish and chips I’ve had. I loved the fries (we call them chips btw) and the fish and was very moist with a nice crispy batter. It was fairly busy night eventually in the cartel as it was super hot so quite a few of the carts were closed so The Frying Scotsman ended up being quite busy after a slow start.

This little spot is insanely delicious. I’m so thrilled to have stumbled across this gem of an eatery. Gluten allergy kids rejoice because they have a gluten free batter option! The cod is cooked to perfection..crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The chips, coleslaw, and tarter sauce are the perfect complement to the star of the plate. The small but mighty food cart is located inside a food cartel that offers picnic tables to enjoy your freshly cooked meal. You can also take your food to-go if you wish. Next time you are craving fish n’ chips, stop by The Frying Scotsman. It will not disappoint.

Only proper fish and chip shop in the Portland metro. The haddock ones are great. Firmer and more flavorful than the typical Atlantic cod

Great gluten free fried fish. Super light and crispy, flaky and flavorful cod. It’s a little greasy, so just pat it off a little and go to town. Huge portion for the small cod as well. I can’t imagine how big the large is. Easily can feed 2. Would return! Lots of options in this pod and lots of places to sit.

Great piece of cod and chips. The one-piece was filling. Next time, I will try the Haddock. Quick service.

My boyfriend is British and he says they have the best, most authentic fish and chips he’s had since moving to America. It’s always fresh and the portions are huge. Can’t recommend it enough!

The best fish and chips I’ve had or found in Oregon so far. Even after going to restaurants on the coast. The haddock was recommended in place of halibut and it was amazing. The chips are perfect and the house made tartar sauce is better than anything I’ve had before.

Incredible! Super crispy coating, moist and tender fish, authentic taste – this is probably the best fish and chips joint in Portland metro. Truly not to be missed if you’re a fan of the classic fare

Absolutely fantastic food. I had the battered Cod and fries. I will be going back soon. Everything was amazing. Fresh fish with a phenomenal batter and the fries are hand cut, not frozen. Definitely a lot of care went into this food. So well done

I’d heard and read about this iconic bit of Scotland here in the Portland area….didn’t expect to visit the Beaverton food trucks last weekend, and REALLY didn’t expect this truck would be open.
