Stopped in (1pm)here to eat before touring Jewel Cave and it was so good we went back afterwards(5pm).
Wonderful friendly service. Delicious food and well poured drinks. We ordered the ribs,chili ,burger with fries and the salad bar.
Ribs fell off the bone fantastic.

My wife and I stopped in and had burgers. One of very few places still open in Custer second half of October. The server and cook were very friendly and delivered a great set of burgers. Fries were great as well.

Stopped in with the family on a Sunday evening. There was only one person was FOH (serving, bussing, bartending) and 1 cook in back. Bar was pretty full and there were 4 tables including us (party of 7). Shawna was a total Rockstar. Got us drinks right away including making a fresh batch of sweet tea. She and the cook got our orders out fast and hot and everything was good! The ribs were the best though! So huge shout out to Frontier for having great service and great food with a skeleton crew!

Called ahead to check kitchen hours, was rudely spoken to. Chili burger was a joke. Extreme amount of coughing behind the bar and in the kitchen. Not washing hands after coughing into them. Customer at bar kept walking in and out of kitchen. Not sanitary.

We were so hungry after going to Mt Rushmore, and by the time we made it back down, most of everything was closed. I asked a convenience store employee if he knew anywhere that would be open, and he recommended Frontier. I’m glad they were open and let us in with one 3-year-old, 4 teens, and 3 adults. The food was sooo delicious, and our server was so kind and attentive. Prices are great for the amount of food and the great service.

Yesterday, Sat. 11/22/25 we had a great waitress. Service was excellent.
Upon her recommendation I ordered the Chicken, Bacon Ranch Sandwich and it did not disappoint. The other folks in our party enjoyed their meal as well.

Warmest welcome from the staff of any venue on our 2 week trip in USA. Unfortunately the well recommended ribs weren’t available but the steak and chicken options were fantastic. We were staying at the Super8 motel opposite so it was a great option for getting food and some drinks without needing to drive.
