Friar’s Nook at Magic Kingdom
Friar’s Nook is a great quick stop for something different in the park. The food is fun and flavorful and it’s nice to find options beyond the usual burgers and fries. Portions are filling and it’s a convenient spot to grab a bite and get back to enjoying the park. Definitely worth stopping by if you want a quick tasty change of pace at Magic Kingdom.l

It’s always a great atmosphere when you get to eat inside the park at Disneyworld, I don’t really highly recommend what I would call these fast food places because traditionally there’s no health options but this one seem to be a little bit better with the breakfast service. Customer Service is always excellent inside the park so therefore we recommend it.

The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because the cashier was super friendly and it’s Disney world… other than that the macaroni hand pie I got was genuinely one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten!

The Friar’s Nook is a small quick service food stop with a very limited menu and no seating. It is designed to be a grab and go restaurant. That said, the food is good and the service is quick. As an added convenience they also accept mobile ordering. It’s a great option for grabbing something quick while on the move and it is fairly centrally located within Magic Kingdom.

Going into this experience, I was excited for the Bacon Mac & Cheese Tater Tots. But in reality, they were completely flavorless, complete with cafeteria-grade mac & cheese, and bland bacon bits. We also ordered a bratwurst, with a pretzel bun that was drier than a desert. Also, the location offers zero seating in the area and is incredibly crowded, if that matters to you.

Beignets were a disappointment. They were tasty but hollow inside and over-fried.

Mac and cheese hand pie was bland and dry. Overall would not spend the calories on these items at Magic Kingdom.

For theme park food this is a surprisingly good place for breakfast! Breakfast sandwich is a croissant with egg and bacon and potato tots on the side! We both had one and a coffee and enjoyed relaxing in the breeze here and watching the world go by. Surprisingly great price for breakfast.

Moldy Bites – Dangerous Negligence

I must start this review by expressing my utter shock and disappointment with the abhorrent experience my companions and I had at “Moldy Bites” aka Friar’s Nook restaurant.

This is a DISNEY’s restaurant in a first world country!

To our horror, we discovered that the bread was covered with mold. This was an alarming and dangerous oversight on the part of the restaurant, as consuming bread contaminated with mold can have severe consequences for one’s health.

It was disconcerting to realize that we had unknowingly consumed moldy bread during our meal. The mold being hidden on the back of the bread made it impossible for us to notice until the very end. This means that we ingested a significant portion of mold, unknowingly subjecting ourselves to potential health risks.

Immediately after discovering the mold, we brought the matter to the attention of the restaurant staff and manager. However, their response was utterly disheartening. Instead of showing genuine concern and taking appropriate actions to address the situation, they displayed a shocking lack of responsibility, saying that nothing woul happen if we are not allergic to mold… Are you kidding me? All they offered was a refund for the meal, as if that could rectify the gravity of the matter. They seemed completely indifferent to the potential health hazards their negligence had exposed us to, which is deeply disconcerting and inexcusable. The manager also explained us that she was in medical school and she could assure us that if we did not have allergies to mold it would be fine… Really?

Eating bread with mold is a serious matter that should never be taken lightly. Mold produces mycotoxins, harmful substances that can lead to a range of health issues, including allergies, respiratory problems, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Friar’s Nook’s failure to take immediate and comprehensive actions to address the moldy bread incident highlights a concerning lack of concern for their customers’ well-being.

I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous it is to eat food contaminated with mold, and it is the restaurant’s fundamental responsibility to ensure that the food they serve is safe for consumption. Unfortunately, Friar’s Nook and DISNEY’S Guest Services have demonstrated a complete disregard for this responsibility, and their lackluster response to the situation is deeply disappointing.

As a result of this distressing experience and the restaurant’s careless attitude towards customer safety, I strongly advise against dining at Friar’s Nook until they demonstrate a sincere commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction. The potential health risks associated with consuming moldy food are too severe to be ignored, and your well-being should never be compromised for the sake of a meal.

In conclusion, my experience at Friar’s Nook was nothing short of a disaster. The restaurant’s negligence in serving us moldy bread without taking proper actions to address the situation is deplorable. I hope that my review serves as a cautionary tale to others and urges Friar’s Nook to reevaluate their practices, prioritize food safety, and treat their customers’ health and well-being with the seriousness it deserves.

We went to Disney Guest Services at the park and they couldn’t care less, we talked to our lawyer and he’s collecting information already.

If you had similar experiences, let me know.

This is one of the highest traffic areas around the carousel and Winnie the Pooh and the seven dwarfs ride. There’s just so much happening in the area that it’s tough to find a seat and calm down for a few minutes with food. That said the food is pretty good for this location and the service is fast.
