Stopped in for a bottle of wine, left with two. Best wine shopping experience of my life. Man in the shop is super knowledgeable without being overwhelming. And the price points are very reasonable!

I’ve never been a huge wine person, but the wine from them was so gorgeous I am converted. 10/10 recommend to everyone looking for a treat! Can’t wait to stop in again

I don’t know how strongly I can praise The French Paradox. They were kind enough to host a wine tasting for my wife’s 45th birthday, and Jacques and the entire staff (including the restaurant upstairs) made everything perfect from start to finish; arranging it, discussing wine options, adding a cake and some cheese plates to the evening, everything. Utterly flawless. Jacques is a consummate professional with an encyclopedic knowledge of wine, a great sense of humor, a friendly and welcoming demeanor, and a clear passion for his work. The whole night was a lesson in all things French wine and an amazing tasting experience.

I was here today for a glass of wine with my sister, the background here is my sister has frequented this place for years with her partner a prominent business who lived in ballsbridge and who gave great business to this establishment for years. We were greeted by the waiter who didn’t seem interested in that we were there. I was looking forward to the experience as I’ve been here before and I have enjoyed my experience on many occasions. Unfortunately on this occasion the experience was soured by the treatment of the waiter who I believe is the owner’s son. My sister first asked for a glass of wine and some cheese and we were told no cheese with the wine and as there were no tables inside we had to sit outside on a miserable day. We knew that the new restaurant was open upstairs and we asked could we see the restaurant and we were told no there prerparing not very good considering how much was given to this restaurant over the years they were in business. I’d have to say the wine that was advised by the waiter was absolutely disgraceful and tasted like vinegar, and we left one glass. When my sister asked the waiter what wine was that he told her and she said I wouldn’t get it again. There was no acknowledgment from the waiter and a very poor service. This restaurant/establishment has been living on its name far too long and thinks it can provide a bad service and bad wine at high prices and get away with it. Luckily enough in Dublin there is far better places. I wouldn’t go back here again.! I wouldn’t give it one star today

Where do I start…

Having been a customer of FP for many years now I can soundly say that there is no better customer experience than going into the wine shop and being met by Jacques or any of his team. They engage and explain the simple things to a simple man like myself, if you actually ask the questions of what is from where and what is best, they don’t lead you to the highest price tag, they take the time in assessing your pallet and making some fantastic recommendations. Some work some don’t, that’s the beauty of wine! But they will help fine tune what you are looking for.

Couldn’t recommend more, especially for those who like wine but have no bloody idea on what exactly they are drinking!

We called in here without a booking and asked for a glass of wine. The staff were helpful and sent us upstairs where Julien was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He recommended a non alcoholic drink for one of the party who wasn’t drinking which they loved. Would highly recommend

Stopped by to buy some wine and the staff were very friendly. They recommended a bottle of Bergerac which was delicious. It wasn’t cheap, but fine wine always comes at a price (otherwise something has to be wrong).
There are many options available to buy cheap wines, but for a special occasion or just to enjoy something delicious and try something new I highly recommend stopping by this wonderful little shop and asking the staff for recommendations
