We had a delightful lunch at French Hound on a rainy February day. The service was excellent as well. We had a small plate appetizer (crab bites) that were delicious as was the scallop risotto, also a special that day. The monkfish was tasty and my Mom’s salmon BLT was awesome, big and she had to take half of it home.
The sidedish of spinach was tasty but a bit on the salty side. The desserts were absolutely marvelous – we had the rum cake (can’t remember exact name) Grand Marnier creme brulee and the profiteroles.
Will definitely make this a regular spot.

Food was below average but what really stood out was the poor service. When a soup, salad, and two entrees is priced over $100 you really expect a stellar dining experience and not only did this fail to meet those expectations it would have been inadequate at most any restaurant. This place has a reasonable setting and ambiance and maybe with a different server it would have been less disappointing.

Small, cozy French restaurant perfect for any time. The Chef is gifted in the dishes he creates and his wife, a sommelier, has an equally gifted palate and offers a fine selection of wines to accompany lunch or dinner. We will be back. Update – understand it has closed but will soon be reopening as the French Hound Brasserie in Leesburg, VA.

Absolutely delightful. Warm ambiance and great food. My wife loves this place and I do too. Highly recommend it to anyone travelling through Middleburg. We drive 45 minutes one way and it is well worth every minute.

This is probably the best closed restaurant I have ever attempted to visit. The door was securely locked as it should be. No menu was posted outside nor taped to the inside of a window pane.
All the chairs were put up on tables as a clear indication that cette restaurant est mort! No guessing about it. Un fermacion a la Prémiere Classé!

For the money, it is hard to beat this fantastic bistro style French restaurant. The staff is welcoming, and combine that with a warm atmosphere, it is hard to have a bad time. Also the owners are great!

It was ok…not knocked out and often odd. We ordered pretzels and mustard, thinking we would be getting home made warm pretzels….nope UTZ dumped on a place with a side of mustard.
