The Fox Hole is a New American cuisine restaurant in Orange City Iowa. We take reservations, take out orders, large groups, private events, and have a beautiful bar to sit at! We have a wide range of wine, liquor, beer, cocktails, and non alcoholic drinks! There are draught beers as well. We serve appetizers, entrees, and desserts. We love to support local businesses by partnering with them and selling their products! We host fun events like trivia, fundraisers, and other events. We want everyone to feel welcome! Such a nice place. The stylish decor is the perfect mix of mid century modern & industrial with It’s cozy atmosphere. The upscale casual dining is fancy without feeling stuffy.
The menu appears to have been thoughtfully created & has a little bit of something for everyone.

Just had a great experience at The Fox Hole! The atmosphere has a perfect balance between classy and low-key, making it great for an either a relaxed meal with family and friends or a casual date night. The ambiance allowed for easy conversation, while not quite it wasn’t loud, and we could still easily hear everyone around the table.
Our server, Chloe, provided excellent service—attentive yet not intrusive, and her timing with the food was spot-on. While the dishes didn’t come out super fast, they arrived at just the right pace to enjoy the meal without feeling rushed.
The menu is impressive! We ordered a collection of drinks, Moscow mules, margarita, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The smash burgers were cooked perfectly, juicy, on brioche buns, and sides of huge flaky onion rings. The split pea soup, has prosciutto, sprouts, and pistachios, which stood out as having unique textures and rich flavor. The steak sando with chimichurri was another highlight, with tender, medium rare steak on a large ciabatta roll. The grown-up grilled cheese is elevated with a bing cherry jam that added a touch of sweetness, and we also added a mushroom medley and bacon to it! And crispy creamy crème brûlée for dessert.
There are two ranges of prices on the menu making it accessible to different groups of people which we really appreciated. Overall, The Fox Hole is an excellent experience with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu!

The food at Fox Hole is the best in the county. Everything I’ve had here has been exceptional – from the Chicken Sandwich to the Pork Schnitzel. Our servers have always been hard workers and very polite. During the meal tonight, the chef personally checked in on our table to make sure everything was how we liked it. I can’t imagine a better experience and I feel so lucky to have this in our town.
My one and only complaint is that the music is a little soft, and I hate hearing the conversations of those around me, but this could be because I dined on a Wednesday night.

Waitress was understaffed, bad management. Nothing on the waitress. Salad was wilted and carrots tasted freezer burnt. Home cut fries looked like the end of the bag at McDonald’s, they were all 1/2 inch fries. Restrooms were immaculate. Restaurant was uniquely decorated. Mackenzie was friendly, helpful and an excellent waitress. But like stated earlier, she had too many tables or the service would have been even better.

Came to Orange City for a golf outing to celebrate our anniversary and stopped at The Fox Hole for a late lunch. Everything was absolutely incredible!
We started with a virgin flavored mojito and a flavored margarita. Both made with house-made flavoring and muddled fruit. For an appetizer, we had the Brussels sprouts with fresh apples and maple for the perfect amount of sweetness.
For our entree, we ordered the ribeye and the duck. The ribeye was hands down the BEST we’ve ever had, and the duck was fantastic as well. Mckenzie was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was great.
Highly recommend and will absolutely be making the trip back to Orange City just to eat here again!

My husband and I went to The Foxhole for lunch and it was the best dining experience we have had in years. Our waitress Mackenzie was hands down the best waitress we’ve had, she gave us great recommendations on food and was very helpful. The food, atmosphere and service was exceptional. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. We will definitely be back to try out the other items on the menu !

We went for dinner with friends.We had the spinach dip with pita chips (needed more chips) and Truffle Fries with an aioli, very good! I had the lobster roll, it was delicious, fresh and full of flavor. Others at our table had the sirloin, smash burger and risotto with salmon, all said they enjoyed their choices. Service was good and speed of service was right on. We will be back!
