Went to the Forge for the first time since the change up. I had a martini and Steak Tips that were perfectly temperatured and tender. They sat on top of ribboned carrots and mash potatoes and topped with a honey garlic glaze. Not overly sweet or savory, just right. Staff was super great! Pool is always free and the weekly events are coming along just fine! Menu is great. $1 wings I believe on Wednesdays and half off burgers every Sunday. They also have a menu of $5 beers, so you can get a taste of a variety of Vermont and domestic beers.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem while looking for a place to eat as I was passing through town. The restaurant itself has a fun juxtaposition of a quiet, elegant dining room when you first enter; and a lively, yet relaxed atmosphere when you make your way towards the bar area. Both seem great. First and foremost, the service was excellent. The staff were always on top of everything to ensure that my dining experience there was the best it could be. They happily answered any of my questions, and if they didn’t know, they found out. The menu was limited, which I enjoyed. And I ended up going with the suggestion that my server made, which was the Salmon with a red pepper coulis, served with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The presentation of the dish was perfect. I was very impressed when it came out, but on my first bite I was a little disappointed by the fish. The salmon had a perfect crust, but was over salted. However, it was balanced out with the mashed potatoes and the coulis, which for me were the stars of the show. I ended the evening with a slice of pecan pie that was delicious. Not too sweet, and great with the ice cream. Overall, a wonderful experience and I would happily suggest to anyone.

I like this place a lot!

My daughter and I stopped in here for dinner on Sunday August 10th 2025. The decor is simple and clean.

The bacon cheeseburger was tasty and came with perfectly cooked hand-cut fries. My daughter said the chicken fingers were some of the best she’s ever tasted and I would agree.

Service was friendly and professional. If you happen to be in or near Randolph you might want to give The Forge a try.

Overall experience 2/10
My husband and I thought we’d give it a try, we’ve heard good things.
We weren’t told what they were out of until we tried to order it.
Poutine was not great, fries were nowhere near fresh cooked, soggy by the time it arrived, unseasoned and barely warm. Quick service for the poutine, but soggy by arrival.
Steak tips were beyond rare after not being asked how we wanted them, they were drowned in sauce that was far too garlicky, I love garlic, this was too much. They were cold on the inside and overcooked on the outside. We watched a couple send theirs back for being rare as well.
Service wasn’t good but they had two servers for a packed house with people pouring in the door.
No alcohol menu on the menu itself, you have to find them on the wall.
We had to wait 20 minutes after receiving our appetizer to order our entree.
We were there for about an hour and maybe 10 minutes within that, we had food.
This painting is the only positive note.
Overall, we will not return.

This was a fun find! A bit of an odd location for a restaurant, but Google helped us out. Met with a friendly face after walking in, he asked us where we’d like to sit, I told him “As far away from other people as possible” and he’s like, “I gotcha” and indeed brought us into the back corner of the pool tables. It was perfect, although if people had been playing pool at that time it would have been loud and decidedly non-private, as well as hazardous, lol. I’m assuming they only use this seating for slow periods, otherwise reserving it for drinks only.

Our waitress (young girl, longer brown hair, t-shirt with ying-yang symbol on back) was super sweet, very attentive without being intrusive, and well-timed. She’s a keeper! Our food was hot, drinks and appetizers came right away and food appropriately timed afterwards. Irish nachos were delicious, and stole the show! The only feedback on this dish was that we paid an extra $5 for beef on them (they normally don’t come with any), and there wasn’t much meat. Ground beef is $5/pound bulk, so even with a generous profit margin there should have been more, in our opinion. Otherwise it was great! My husband got a burger and I got mac’n’ cheese. Both were good, standard pub style food. I actually liked that there wasn’t a zillion things on the menu, made it easier to choose! We were going to be driving home right afterwards so we didn’t order drinks, but looked like they had a good selection.

Atmosphere was friendly and casual. Some parts of the building had been recently upgraded, some needed some work, but overall a pretty clean, comfortable place. We loved that it felt “comfy”, not snobby or pretentious. Thankful that the music wasn’t really loud or inappropriate and we could talk and be heard easily. We would visit here again for sure to try some of the other items!

This is a pub that’s just a bit off of the beaten path. Given how few restaurants there are in Randolph, I would recommend it. The burgers are half price on Sunday. Cheese was skimpy so I’d skip it. Couldn’t taste the cheese. Fries were fine. They seemed to be understaffed when we went so service was poor but the workers were friendly and busy. It’s described as cozy but to us it was anything but that. We were cold. A small woodstove heated one table. There are also pool tables for those who want to play. In another location with more options I might skip this restaurant but given that choices are limited we will likely return.

I am so glad I was recommended this place while staying in town for a bit. Waitresses were friendly right away. Good selection of local beer. We got the clam chowder soup which was delicious and the pork belly pops to start. Everything was hot when it came out. For dinner for the prime rib dinner, which was like chewing butter and was very flavorful. Then the mushroom and potato entree as the second entree, creamy and delicious. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

Stopped at The Forge for lunch with another couple. What’s the chance of my Irish born girl meets another Shannonite in the middle of Vermont? Yep. It happened. And we all enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was great (PLAYOFF FOOTBALL!). Bartender very attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommend.

Stopped here on a road trip just passing through and WOW I’m glad I did. Almost changed my mind by the outside.. it’s slightly uninviting but as soon and you enter it is stunning inside. The food was delicious- I did the B.Y.O.B. with the fries. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend!!!!

I used to love The Forge for their chicken tenders. Since the new ownership came in, I have yet to try them until tonight. Yikes. I was highly disappointed in my tenders. They’re no longer crunchy and well battered, but instead barely battered, and part of my batter was soft, wet, and falling off the chicken. The chicken tenders were served with fries, which I did enjoy the consistency of more than the old ownership version, but wayyyy too much salt – I couldn’t eat them. Also, I ordered poutine, which I thought was supposed to have gravy on it, but mine came with a clump of cheese in the middle and no gravy, with random fries along the sides. $37 for those two things, too! Won’t be returning, sadly. …and I was so excited The Forge was back. But hey, at least NECI taught the chef how to make decent ranch!! (Salty like my fries!)
