We walked in and even though they were employees working in the front who were visible, we were not greeted at all. Seeing as how this was our first time there it wasn’t immediately obvious that we needed to order at a kiosk versus talking to someone. At least 30% of the items on the menu were “out of stock” including some of the most popular items.
The interior looked like a restaurant having an identity crisis. The decor was completely mismatched and sending all kinds of signals. Bummer!
When we ordered I asked if I could have some water and was told “sorry our soda machine is down and other than that we have no water in the store.” I found that hard to believe seeing as how they had to wash dishes and stuff but I decided not to push it and just didn’t get anything to drink. I placed my order and sat down and waited for my food and my friends did the same.
When our food arrived my friends order was wrong and so was mine. I had paid extra for pickles and they were not included so I went up to the counter and was handed a 2 oz plastic cup filled with some pickle pieces. As if the $ up charge wasn’t enough, that was pretty pathetic.
The food was uninspired, greasy and just not delicious. Coupled with the fact that the restaurant was disgustingly dirty and the drink machine was in the corner covered by a plastic garbage bag and a stack of board games with dirty fingerprints all over them… I quickly lost my appetite.
The ketchup bottles were all old, and greasy and the labels had fallen off or been removed. The tables were grimy in the floor was sticky and dirty. The high chairs took several rounds of wipes to clean off. Ironically the bathroom was probably the cleanest place in there!!
It’s sad because the burgers are a great idea and I loved their named after some hard-hitting theologians but there’s a missed opportunity there to explain the name of the burgers, to create a cohesive design/theme for the restaurant, and just basic cleanliness. I’m including photos I took while I was there, to show I’m not just leaving a bad review because. If you look at my profile I actually regularly review things really well but that’s part of my commitment to reviewing – If something genuinely not good I feel an obligation to let people know about my experience.
As much as this was hyped up, sadly I don’t plan to return.
We ordered the Billy Cheese and it was perfect. Their fries and onion rings were great too.
Dipping sauce was delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Walked in and since it was mine and my buddies first time we weren’t sure what to order. The dude working the register was nice and patient.
Got the standard double cheese burger and some fry’s.
The burger patty itself was a freaking banger but the bun was a little dry. Probably the end of the week for their bread and their order coming in soon.
Forgiving the sorta dry bun for a second the burger was top tier! The smash was perfect and super juicy! Cheese melty and plenty of it!
Over all I’d say it’s a solid 8.1 burger and taking into account the bun it would hit an 8.7
I’ll definitely be back to try out some of the other variations! And you should check em out!
The burgers were good and fries were good. Price was very reasonable ($14 for a burger and $2.50 for fries) for the area.
We both ordered the King James Burger with a side of truffle fries. but the burger was juicy and accompanied by so many unique and tasteful flavors, like apples and tomatoes.
The Truffle fries were truffled and salted to crisp perfection as well.
Definitely a lot of food though, we couldn’t finish our plates, talk about bang for your buck!
