The Flame is open! New owners. It’s a great local option. Try it for the first time or try it again. Great, friendly and helpful staff. Land your boat at the dock or drive, park and walk along the lake after you eat.

Great old fashioneds, excellent service, and a very clean atmosphere. Our server, Fredrick, was kind and attentive throughout the visit. The food was well presented and reasonably priced. While the fish fry wasn’t our favorite—the beer batter was a bit soggy—we would definitely return to try other menu items because the service made for a positive experience overall.

It was our first time here! We came by sled, and I think were surprised it wasn’t too busy (which will change with signage near the trails). Brian our bartender was very attentive and the food was fresh & delicious… one of the best chicken bacon ranch wraps I’ve had in the Northwoods! Also had the loaded cheese curds… so good!

Wow! Under new ownership has meant vast improvements! We stopped for a cocktail and snack and stayed for several beverages and brunch! Jay was a great bartender and guide for the menu. The biscuits and gravy were divine but the wild rice pancakes were the star of the meal. Jay made special cocktails called Hugo and the mules with ginger beer did not disappoint! A perfect place for a family meal, girls brunch or a herd of snowmobilers! Tons of tvs for sports, pool, bar games too! Beautiful lake views as well. Guaranteed you will enjoy The Flame!

The Flame has one of the best atmospheres and friendliest staff in the Northwoods. We stopped in for a break after a long day of snowmobiling and the Flame ‘ticked’ all of the boxes for a great snowmobile destination. Their thin French fries and chicken buffalo dip with mini fry bread was the best any of us have ever had. Served to us by Angel who was very pleasant to chat with. The bartender (Spirit Advisor) Jay was a hoot to talk to. A true mixologist which is tough to find in the north woods. He had suggestions for us for our refreshments vs just letting us order the same old thing. Keep it going Flame! We’ll be back.

I have been coming to the Flame for many many years. This place has had a couple different owners. Now it is well established and well maintained. Food is all good! The place has def a Northwoods vibe.

Came at 7pm on a Friday night with a party of 6. The Friday menu is not the menu listed online. It only has certain options and none are the salads listed online. Nothing online says “special menu nights”.
Server brought me a tap beer with snotty floaters in it AFTER she said SHE had to pour 3 beers before it to get rid of MOST of them !?? It was their HOUSE BEER !! CLEAN YOYR LINES
We mistakenly ordered food anyway.
Cheese pizza was MAYBE as good as a frozen Tony’s pizza.
Pan seared Perch was last night’s leftover deep-fried, reheated.
Child’s hamburger was larger than expected .
They were OUT of Cole Slaw, so they thought adequate substitutes were unsweetened kiddie apple sauce cups !? We left five on the table.
They were OUT of Baked Potatoes.
(REALLY?? Baked potatoes…It’s called a grocery store. Send someone !)
They were OUT of Mac and Cheese too !!
I know what they weren’t out of…EMPTY boat slips. They have 23 slips so you can boat to dinner. I’m not sure where they would seat those boaters or who would serve them… They spent all their money on slips, and they apparently can’t afford to buy potatoes or Slaw fixin’s or hire someone to clean beer equipment.
The indoor environment was extremely LOUD (especially after the outdoor band quit playing)
.Very sterile inside. Everything white and grey.
Definitely won’t be back (even for the salads) !

Stopped in the other day for appetizers and a few beverages. Nice place newly rebuilt, very nice industrial modern gray and black look . We had a a couple of beers, brandy old fashion, beer was cold old fashion was ok. We had the Flame’s take on nachos using waffle fries in place of chips, lots of toppings, brisket, onions, tomatoes, jalapeños salsa and cheese! Very tasty we will be back!
