We stopped in to The Fitz after dinner, that is a speak easy themed cocktail lounge that is underground to Oh My Darling. It is basement level and just a black unmarked door opens to the staircase leading down, that has clear signage. It definitely is like stepping back in time and there’s no Wi-Fi service so guests are enjoying the live music or socializing! We ordered pretty quickly at the bar, we were not offered menus so I’m not sure what their signature cocktails are. Ordered a martini requested fruity, I believe it was raspberry not sure and a dark red for my friend. We sat in some cozy velvet purple chairs in the lounge area enjoying live Jazz music. My friend recalls this was a downstairs dining area for Burger King in the 80’s-early 90’s. The bar and Bath Room could be a bit tidier, but otherwise fun retro vibe. There is an historical piston machine on display that was used to run the building’s original elevator utilizing steam! And now serves as decor and remanence of past decades.

This place is very cool and has a rich history as well as a terrific atmosphere. We were there for a private party and the staff was amazing. The bar was well stocked and there was plenty of room to drink and relax. The food was very good and I mean very good! The Brussels sprouts were fantastic and the shepherds pie was delicious as well as very hot.
I was also impressed with the overall atmosphere of the place. Modeled after a 1920’s speakeasy it is below the Oh my darling restaurant and features a very old steam engine that used to power the elevator in the building. The decorations were very fitting for the place as well.

If you get a chance to go here you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I went last night. The place is every elegant, we enjoyed the performer shout out to her because she is the one who had taken the photos of us. The drink I had was amazing, and vibe there was very grown and sexy.

The Fitz is one of Syracuse’s hidden gems. The ambience is stunning, with dim lighting, vintage charm, and the kind of cozy atmosphere that instantly makes you want to stay a while. Most nights they have live bands (yes, real music by amazing local talent!), and it adds so much character to the space.
Drinks are affordable, and the bartenders know what they’re doing, I don’t think I’ve had a bad drink here. There’s also a quieter sitting area if you need a break from the music but still want to enjoy the vibe.
I recommend it if you’re into good music, cute spaces, and lowkey unforgettable nights .

The Fitz is designed as a speakeasy and is located in the basement of the building housing the Oh My Darling restaurant. The atmosphere is good and there’s an area for live music. Decorations found on bookshelves include old books, model cars, old photographs, and other items that might have been found in illegal bars during prohibition. There were however some striking shortcomings. The tables were wobbly and the chairs were mismatched, and even inappropriate, like placing a tall chair at a low table. Also the food provided by the restaurant upstairs was pretty disappointing. So, with an attractive bar and a noir-ish environment, if an effort were made to provide comfortable chairs and tables, and if they could work out a better food service from upstairs, this could be an interesting place to have a bite to eat, a few drinks, and listen to music. But it’s not there yet.

Perfect place to end your night and enjoy some live music. I’d love for them to get a better speaker system because at times it’s very difficult to hear the music.
