Went Friday afternoon. Was very clean and owner came and greeted us, nice touch and great conversation. Order the sampler to get a feeling for the offerings. Nice portions enough for another meal or two. Ribs where tender and meaty. Nice ring. Brisket a little dry but flavor made up for it. Wings perfect. Sausage usually for a fan but we’re very tasty. Pork was perfect as well. A welcome addition to the BBQ scene in the roanoke area. A new favorite. Would love to sit outside during spring and enjoy the patio.

can’t say enough good things about The Fishin’ Pig! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with a warm, laid-back atmosphere that perfectly blends Southern BBQ charm with fresh seafood flair. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel right at home.
The real star of the show, though, is the pulled pork. It’s incredibly tender, smoky, and packed with flavor in every bite. The meat practically melts in your mouth and pairs perfectly with their house-made sauces. Whether you get it on a sandwich, platter, or piled high next to their classic sides, it’s clear they know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to BBQ.
Everything tastes fresh and made with care, and the portions are generous without sacrificing quality. If you’re craving authentic barbecue with bold flavor and great hospitality, The Fishin’ Pig is an absolute must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back for more of that amazing pulled pork!

The service was excellent. The grilled catfish had a wonderful flavor. The BBQ was very dry. The baked beans were not very flavorful. The potato salad was not very flavorful. The Mac and cheese skillet was good a lot of flavor. The fried pickles were good.

If you haven’t eaten at The Fishin’ Pig you are missing possibly the best restaurant in the Roanoke area. No one and I mean no one rivals how amazing their fish is and their brisket and pulled pork is as good if not better than Mission BBQ (sorry guys). The shimp tacos are the very best around and you will not find better fried pickles anywhere. They also know how to make sweet tea. Evidently they use an extra tea bag when brewing it so you actually taste tea unlike most every other places in town who serve sugar water with a hint of tea. They are a little pricey but well worth it. You actually leave satisfied and feeling like you got your money’s worth. The staff are friendly and appear happy to be working and serving you. Everyone had smiles on their faces and the manager rounds to make sure you are happy with your food. She also helped her staff by busing tables. This will be our go to for date nights and is well worth the drive to Daleville. Did I mention that the beer is ice cold?

Update: NEVER AGAIN
That’s 6.5 ounces of chicken in a “pint” that’s 2/3 full. It cost $15 making this chicken $37.50 A POUND. Insanity. I wouldn’t have done it, a family member picked this up on the way home. Lesson learned.
The pulled chicken sandwich at this location is much smaller than the one I had at the Richmond location earlier this year. By a lot. Too bad, the food is good overall. Not much food for $12.
Edit: tried again. None of the food or service lives up to the other locations. It’s like a different restaurant.

Great experience! We got there when they opened at 3:00 on a Sunday. There were already a lot of people there but we immediately got a seat. Our server, Big Mac, was awesome. The food was delicious and Mike, the building owner came around several times to make sure everything was good. I highly recommend Fishin’ Pig in Daleville. The views of the mountains are a bonus!!

Gave The Fishin’ Pig another chance tonight, and I’m so glad we did. Introduced myself to the owner, Mike, when we arrived and he insisted on making it right. He, our server Crisha (I’m so sorry if I’m getting your name wrong) and our hostesses Rose and Kennedy took wonderful care of us. The food was excellent! The salad was fresh and crunchy, the brisket melted in your mouth, the pulled pork was moist and flavorful, the ribs were tender with a great smoke on them, and the sausages were delicious- my husband’s favorite. The chicken wings might have been the highlight for me, which surprised me. I have no idea what kind of magic was either on them, but wow. The cherry on top, hush puppies, were perfect. So thank you, Fishin’ Pig, for changing my mind in quite spectacular fashion. Oh, and Mike, your employees totally talk behind your back about how wonderful you are and how well you treat them. It’s nice to hear. 🙂

Visited for the first time for dinner yesterday, a Saturday at about 6:30pm. The wait was not terrible, the service was wonderful, and the space is lovely. I was hoping for really great BBQ, but was disappointed there- we ordered the sampler and while the pulled pork was decent, the ribs and brisket were very, very dry. Even with sauce, the meat was tough to swallow. The smoked wings and beef sausage were good, as were the green beans, collards, and hush puppies. We plan on giving them another shot, hoping that maybe our brisket and ribs were an exception to the rule and had maybe hung out under a heat lamp for a bit too long. Still, I’m excited to have another locally owned BBQ joint in the area!

We waited a bit to eat here since it was brand new and the wait was worth it. The food is great – well prepared, huge portions. The interior is high-ceilinged and light and noisy! It’s a great place for families to bring their kids. Can’t wait to go back!

Outstanding new restaurant. They have alot going on and the food is absolutely delicious. Freshly smoked BBQ, and fresh seafood. There are so many options and the dinner specials are on point. Looking forward to them opening up for lunch. The views are crazy, and the fact it’s locally owned is hard to argue with. If you are a fan of smoked meats and fresh seafood this is going to be your spot.
