Unexpectedly great! Great restaurant and fish market ( lower level) . The food was way better than expected. We went after touring the Midway and just wanted to sit and eat and thought this might be a tourist trap. We were soooo wrong. Decent prices and food was great. We had the Fish and Chips and NE Clam Chowder as well as swordfish tacos and one person got a burger which he says was really good. Friendly and attentive staff. Parking is limited as is most of the area.

Although this is more like a tourist attraction nearby the museum, but their foods were very good, and we got live music in the evening so the atmosphere was lovely. The service is top notch and the waiters also let us know the happy hour offers. Parking is also easy, right outside of the restaurant. We will definitely come back again.

We came for a late lunch/early dinner and were easily seated outside by the water. We chose this restaurant as it seemed to have more fresh fish and gf options than others nearby. The setting was gorgeous on the water (but got really hot too). Service was good. Food was yummy too. The fish and shrimp ceviche was on point. The swordfish was tasty but a little tougher than we like. The poke bowl had good flavor. We’d come again.

Went here for my birthday weekend 2-14 and this restaurant is beautiful! Our table was overlooking the water. We could see cruising boats, people surfing, jet skiing and just enjoying the scenery. The food unfortunately very mediocre. But I would definitely go back again because of the breath taking scenery and the hospitality by the manager- didn’t get her name but she was a lovely African American woman. She walked from table to table smiling and making sure everyone had everything that they needed. She put that extra classy touch to my first time experience here.

With an incredible view of the ocean especially at sunset and being in such close proximity to some impressively sized boats this restaurant provided both fantastic tastes and a memorable experience! The prices are great especially for the amount served and compared to other seafood restaurants on the water! The sourdough bread and rice were incredibly flavourful which was a pleasant surprise, we couldn’t get enough! Their fish had great texture, taste and were perfectly battered! I loved that each table outside had their own heat tower behind each chair to keep us warm against the ocean breeze! The staff were also super nice and accommodating! I highly recommend sitting outside or near a window for a unique viewing experience! We saw many boats, planes and sea life while dining!

As San Diego natives, my partner and I have always been eyeing Fish Market and we finally got the chance to eat at the restaurant. We had a reservation at 6 pm on a Monday night. We requested to be seated outside and our request was granted! For food we ended up starting with the Oysters Rockefeller which came with 4 (creamy spinach, artichoke hearts, romano cheese). This was the first time trying this dish, it was solid but probably won’t order it again. For our main course we got the Fish and Chips but the combo with both Battered Cod and Battered Shrimp. The fries were super crispy as well. The cod was nice and flaky as well! We also got the Grilled Salmon with Pink Peppercorn Sauce (herbed potatoes, grilled asparagus, pepperonata). This was ok, the Salmon a bit overcooked but the rest of the dish was delightful. Also the food took an unusually long amount of time, not too sure what was going on there. Overall solid view, solid food and nice servers.

The Fish Market surprised me — in the best way. Fresh, bright ceviche that danced on the tongue, a solid beer list, and a view that makes every bite feel seaside. Louie is the the heart beat of the the restaurant — with his recommendations and energy it’s amazing. Friendly service, great portion sizes, and an atmosphere perfect for a sunset meal. Bonus: it’s right by the Midway ship, so you can make an evening of it. Highly recommend stopping by.

Stopped here after a long walk. The view from the restaurant is wonderful. Service was great. I was lucky to be able to select a few items from the happy hour menu, which made my experience affordable.

Family friendly, seafood restaurant that serves generous portions of the main ingredients and has friendly service. The good is not overly seasoned which was much preferred. The fish and chips were great as was the fish tacos. I liked their fries – crispy and thick.

⭐️⭐️ Two-Star Review

The Fish Market on the San Diego harbor has an incredible atmosphere—there’s no denying that. The view over the water, the ocean breeze, and the overall vibe of the place are absolutely beautiful. The staff were genuinely kind, attentive, and welcoming. Honestly, the waiters were the highlight of the entire experience; they made us feel comfortable and well taken care of from start to finish. I truly appreciated their service and the overall ambience of the restaurant.

But when it comes to the food itself, it was a big disappointment. We ordered garlic shrimp linguine, and while I expected a strong garlic flavor, what we received was excessive to the point of being overwhelming. It wasn’t that the dish had garlic — it felt like we were eating pure garlic. There was more garlic on the plate than shrimp, more garlic than pasta, and the taste was so overpowering that it took away from everything else.

I usually love garlic, but this was beyond normal. It completely overshadowed the dish, making it hard to enjoy anything else on the plate. For a restaurant with such a beautiful location and great service, I was honestly hoping the food would reflect that quality.

I still appreciate the staff and the gorgeous setting, but the food missed the mark, and for that reason, I can only give this experience two stars. I hope the kitchen balances their flavors better next time, because the potential here is huge.
