The Firehouse is a family run full service restaurant and bar that has been serving the Venice community for over 34 years. Our historic building, at the corner of Rose Avenue and Main Street, served as Venice’s fire station from 1902 until the 1950s. Originally an American diner, we have expanded into a full service bar while also becoming a staple in the fitness industry with our health oriented meal options.
All-day Californian-American diner eats served in a former firehouse with outdoor tables.

I always wondered why this place was so quiet all the time… well I discovered for one, although they have outlets, “The boss has a policy that no one can plug into them.” I popped in to have lunch and take a quick meeting on my laptop and no exceptions! I was asked to unplug my laptop from a perfectly good outlet lol. Got the fish tacos which are 100% fish sticks deep fried and with some avo and pico added. Very mediocre. Needless to say I’ll be back never.

Saw this spot just being lost driving around Santa Monica. Was super happy they served breakfast at 8pm, because I love breakfast 24/7. Got the Firehouse breakfast. Was delicious. My boyfriend got fish tacos with some hot sauce and damn that sauce was so good. Service was good. One thing tho, their champagne was pricey.

Diner is misleading, this is not a diner, but rather a bar that also serves food. The center of the restaurant is a very large bar that gets quite popular during certain games that are always playing on one of the many TVs. They have a few booths and tables surrounding this bar, and they have some outdoor seating as well. Our service was actually really great because our server was really polite and very attentive, but that was one of the best parts of our meal. They don’t have a parking lot so it will be street parking. My main issue with the meal was the price, everything is just overpriced, especially for the quality.
The menu is fairly limited, but they do have some good options on it. I chose the Eggs Benedict for my meal and added avocado and thought it was just OK. The eggs were very runny and the hashbrowns tasted more like home fries and the hollandaise didn’t really taste homemade but more like something out of a can. The prices of everything were just too much and should be stepped down.
Overall I would not suggest because of the price and lack of special flavors. It was just not a memorable meal. I do like the location because I am a fan of Venice, but I don’t plan to be back for future visits.

Once a staple in the 90s that I and many others use to go now gone bad, ordered the steak fajitas that came with no steak, ordered the burger where the patty was smaller than the onions. Can see why so many people prefer to go to the vans and street food over this place

Called in just before lunchtime when passing. Ordered a steak sandwich and burger, orange juice (tasted freshly squeezed) and coffee. The food was very good- the fries possibly the best I’ve had all holiday. All the staff were attentive and friendly and the food arrived in good time. I would definitely eat there again if i was in Venice / Santa Monica any longer.

Visiting from AZ. Popped in for lunch. The staff, Braulio and Armando are top notch. Very friendly and provided fabulous service. They treated us so well, that we returned a few hours later for a drink. We definitely will return just to have another chat with these two gentlemen. We truly enjoyed our experience.

I really hate to write this review. I was so looking forward to my experience here at the firehouse, but was sadly so disappointed by the food quality and taste. This is not the diner experience. The coffee alone was $6 and that is crazy to me when I could go down the block and get a quality latte for a dollar more. Service was great and they mean well.
Overall the food just is not worth the price at all.

The menu is perfect, the prices are reasonable and the staff is on point! This is our go to spot when we’re in town. My breakfast is the egg scramble with buffalo. Also the huevos rancheros are perfect. The food is clean, the bloody Mary are spicy and the service go above and beyond. What more could you ask for?

This plays feels fresh and clean. The staff was quick to welcome us in. There is a front patio and also a backyard you can ask to sit in. The yard in the back seemed to lonely though, so we sat in the front next to the wide open patio. I got a coffee with cream and some spicy chicken from the appetizer menu.
It said something about bluecheese dressing coming with it, so it was strange when the server served it with ranch. We asked for bleucheese and then they brought it right away and took the ranch back because we didn’t want ranch at all.
I was so hungry and inspired after watching the bodybuilding competition, so I ordered from the bodybuilding menu.
I forgot the name of it, but it was a steak that came with egg whites and my choice of a carb was a baked sweet potato.I wish I asked if they actually have the egg yolks somewhere… I wonder what they do with the egg yolks!
My steak was ordered medium rare, but came out medium. I ate it anyway and it was super tasty. I was full and satisfied and had another coffee refill with more cream.
I will definitely go back here again.
