Review of Fire Place in Southington, CT, for wood fired pizza

Fire Place in Southington, CT. The crust was very flavorful, cheese was good, salty. I would say we will be back.

Good food, we had spicy garlic wings. Focaccia bread with dipping sauce. No matter what we have for food from this place, the wings, the sauce, the pizza. Everything comes out really hot, certainly preferred that way. The wings were fantastic, they were so juicy. They were really good.

After 22 years living in the United States, I finally found the perfect pizza! The dough was crusty, airy, absolute perfection. We all loved our pizza, and the service was just as good.

The Fire Place atmosphere inside is fantastic. Probably the best looking pizza place around. Service from Mia was very friendly. Food to table time was a bit slow. Wings were great. Could be a bit crispier but they tasted really good. Mashed potato pizza is done right here. Sausage pizza could have more sausage topping but it tastes great. Pizza is a nice combination of fire cooking but yet the dough is still soft. Definitely pricey but it’s the qod we live in for now. Would return to The Fire Place as this visit for dinner was pretty good.

Best wings ive had! They were full of flavor plenty of sauce. They were also moist but still had a char on the outside. The pizza was a soild pizza, i have no complaints its everything i ask for in a pizza. The service was pretty good for how busy it was we did not get full 100 attention but we got everything we wanted in a good time and it was delicous Update… ordered the fig jam and arugala foccia bread that was a special. It tasted wonderful my only complaint is its definitely not foccia bread… tasted felt and looked like pizza dough.

I have never given a 1 rating to any of the numerous restaurants I have been to. Something has to be egregiously wrong with the food or service to merit this undistinguished rating. You can judge from the pictures I included and make your own judgement on this matter.
Many people like this place but to serve a customer a totally burnt and charred pizza says volumes about a lack of quality control, kitchen procedures and common sense. The pizza I received and which I should have inspected before accepting this takeout order was obviously place in a blazing hot oven and not properly cooked. The kitchen staff that cooked this pie and passed it on for delivery to a customer is obviously not properly trained or monitored which begs the serious question of what else do they do that a customer may not be aware of???

In addition, the restaurant is seriously dark inside – I am not talking about ambient lighting – it’s like walking outside at midnight on a moonless night. If you are elderly, prone to falls or tripping or just like to see what you are eating, I would avoid this place.

(Last visited 10/22/2021.) So I’ve seen this place get mentioned in The Wingaddicts Facebook group a couple of times so Bae and I made our way here to check this place out and here’s how it went!

Atmosphere/Appearance: As soon as you walk in this place wraps you up and hugs you. It feels warm, welcoming and it invites you in. There’s a lot of stone walls, a little bit of wood and warm, yellow lighting. There are several sections of the restaurant and navigating them CAN be a bit confusing for first-timers, but it’s not that bad.

Service: I can’t remember who took care of us, but she was great. There was nothing to complain about and she made sure that we had everything we needed.

Food: Now, for the main event! This place is REALLY well known for their wood-fired pizzas that have such a unique flavor, but we are here for the wings. The Fire Place offers wings in 6 flavors, but only in 1 size and you can only get 1 flavor per order. So we ended up with 2 flavors, the original “Fire Place Wings” and their Spicy Garlic flavor. When I tell you I was absolutely blown away by every aspect of of these wings I mean. The texture, flavor, spice, size, everything. These are literally some of the best wings I’ve ever had. This is exactly what I mean when I say wings that aren’t fried take you to new worlds! I did prefer the original flavor to the the spicy garlic, but it honestly didn’t matter. I MUST come back to try the other 4 flavors and to film them for my channel! We also split a Spinaci Salad which contains spinach, red onions, Mandarin oranges, pecans, Gorganzola cheese and served with a raspberry vinaigrette. That too was crisp, fresh, deliciously sweet and filling.

Value: Each order of wings is $15.99 and comes with a dozen. For what you get they’re absolutely worth the money. For sure. The salad was $11.99 for the large.

In conclusion, I loved this place. I haven’t been back yet, but Bae and I talk about revisiting all the time. We just need to make it happen!

If you made it this far in the review, I appreciate you reading. Please do me a favor and head on over to “The Hungry Road” on YouTube and subscribe! My channel features a lot of food, car and exclusive shoe related content! Help me grow! Thank you so much!

We had the most wonderful experience at The Fireplace Restaurant for my daughter’s first birthday! The staff went above and beyond to make the day special. Everyone raved about the food – it was absolutely delicious and fresh. Our server, Jen, was incredible – attentive, kind, and made sure everything ran smoothly. A huge thank you as well to Miguel, who truly outdid himself with the menu. We couldn’t have asked for a better celebration. I’m so grateful to The Fireplace Restaurant for making such an important milestone unforgettable. Highly recommend them for any special occasion.

Good beer (with delicious blueberries) nice staff… However the pizza was much too expensive for the quality unfortunately! It wasn’t terrible but it was underdone, soggy, and doughy. Went on a Sunday night and it was pretty dead. Too dark inside and the commercials on the radio were too loud. Don’t think I’d want to go back but don’t regret going in general?
