Love this little secret theatre/speakeasy, tucked behind a quaint and active Game Store.
Intimate Theatre and Stage, delicious food, tasty drinks, attentive & friendly Staff. This is one of My favorite places. Perfect for a Date Night.

This is a great idea that needs work in execution. Having a game store with a speakeasy vibe game library/cafe in the back is a great idea. But if that’s what you’re going for you have to significantly increase the game selection. It’s attached to a game store. The people coming are most likely looking for new games to test play or to take on their favorites with friends. Put out new games and then have them in stock so people buy them to take home. Also, the coffee drinks were mediocre.

We visited the Fifty-Niner for the first time this weekend. It was honestly disappointing. It was very dark and very cold. It was hard to see the games because it was so dark and the game selection was limited. I ordered the hot chocolate and the cheese board. The cheese board is pricy but worth it. Everything on it was delicious. The hot chocolate tasted like chocolate water and was not great. The service was ok. The waitress was attentive and nice. I doubt we will be back but if you go I highly recommend the cheese plate.

We love this place! Amazing drinks (I had a signature margarita. It was great…very crisp and not too sweet).

We had the meat and cheese board and a panini…also amazing. The server was super friendly and helpful. They have over 200 games from which to choose. Overall a great night. It’s a hidden gem and a great vibe. The other people there were also awesome. Definitely something to try if you’re in Old Colorado City.

We got there early, and there were just a few other couples. By 9:00, there were several groups and a few other couples. No one was too loud, and everyone was having a great time.

The experience here was impressive. We loved our cocktails and wine. Adam and Genevieve were excellent at guiding us through the unique menu items. The charcuterie board was the best pairing and also had items paired with each other which was explained when it was served to us. We enjoyed our time and will be back for sure!

Eclectic place. We don’t drink, so mostly visiting for a place to play games with friends. Good selection… something for everyone!

Food menu is limited. I recommend looking at options online before you go. Friends got panini which came with a personal/ small bucket of chips and bowl of a few slices of dill pickles. Price seemed fair and menu descriptions accurate.
The charcuterie boards, not so much. We ordered the combo meat with the cheese board. You get $2 off that way vs ordering separately, but I wonder if we would have more food to order separately? Both were to come with nuts, tomatoes, and artichokes. Would we have had double the amount if boards were separate? Meats were ok for the price, but cheeses, we got 2T of white cheddar, 2T of bleu cheese. Other cheese sticks had a decent portion. Walnuts were candied. Small bits of orange slices around board weren’t that great, but hey, that’s produce in the Rockies in winter, eh? That was the only fruit on the board, adding up to 1/4-1/2 an orange. Overall, the board was pretty, and stuff on it was yummy, but they should say how much you get outright I think.

Servers very attentive.
Radio music had some 70s songs in the mix. Nice for us “older” crowd folks.
Decor odd but fun… only mounted dragon heads in a restaurant I have ever seen.
Definitely recommend for a first date or anniversary when you just need to try a new, fun place.

Despite concerns on expected portion size for board, I definitely recommend this place!

This was SUCH a fun early afternoon date night. Drinks were a bit watery/sugary, but there were so many board game options that we just switched to beer/wine and it was great (the bathtub gin comes in an ACTUAL glass bathtub…!!).

Our only complaint was that the staff got veryyy overwhelmed when it got the slightest bit busy and even forgot that we had given them a card to try to close out.

And while we didn’t get the charcuterie, soooo many people did and it looked phenomenal.

Nice atmosphere, drinks were solid. Food was OK. The waitress/bartender/chef was hustling to keep everyone in spirits and food. She could’ve used an extra set of hands to make the process flow.
Excellent selection of games, would’ve liked to see Cards Against Humanity but the selection was pretty good.
They are serious about the two hour window for your booking. The everything lady(who I cannot stress enough did an excellent job) very promptly and politely gave us last call and closed out our tab at 90 minutes. Which wasn’t a problem.
The place was very clean, lighted well for game play,
To be fair, this was the Wednesday after Christmas so i don’t think they expected much business.
Just an observation, to add to the speakeasy flavor, make up a secret game name and have speakeasy patrons ask if you have that game as their password to the speakeasy. It would make it more fun.
Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Fantastic place to pull out a game and be served by wonderfully friendly people. I like the ambience vibe of a ‘speakeasy’, although it really is just a bar w/ food in the back of a game store. Which, actually, is the first of its kind in C/S that I know of. I have no complaints with the food or service. The only gripe I have is the lighting in some areas. It was very dark where we were playing our game (on the big round table). We were constantly pulling out our phone flashlights to read cards and play the game. Besides that, this is a great place, with a very extensive game library, to have a drink and play a game.
