The bar wasn’t great. The burger was tiny, and the 4 cocktails we had weren’t well-balanced. On the other hand, my wife’s cod was amazing. Atmosphere was uncomfortable quiet. They should turn up the music so personal conversations don’t echo awkwardly across the room. We were both hungry even though it was a very expensive meal, and we picked up a pizza after leaving…

I recently visited The Fearrington House Restaurant for the second time and once again, it exceeded my expectations. The first time I visited was for my anniversary and I knew I had to come back to experience the exquisite menu and cozy atmosphere once again.

This was a tremendous experience all around! Each course was fabulous. Although the main course felt a little weaker. Each amuse bouche, and courses one and two were just phenomenal. The chocolate souffle was by far the greatest chocolate souffle I’ve ever had in my life. They are defying all odds with that dish and it’s no wonder it has been on the menu for 34 years. One of the only downsides of the Fearrington House restaurant, is the atmosphere is a little stifling. Our server was incredible and welcoming, although it is just so quiet in there. We felt like we couldn’t have a normal conversation without everyone hearing us. Nonetheless we had an amazing night. And oh my gosh we had white port. Which I honestly didn’t even know was a thing. Now I want it all the time!

I went for afternoon tea with my 7 year old daughter, Mom, and sister. We got to sit in a little enclave with its own table and windows looking out onto the patio. The atmosphere was wonderful. The interior decorating was beautiful, and the chairs were very comfortable. The food was presented beautifully and was delicious. You think you’ll be able to eat everything since they are each quite small but I found that I could only taste everything before getting full. I was able to take home my leftovers to eat later. I loved the fact that everyone gets their own pot of tea, whether it’s a different tea or the same as everyone else. They do get booked pretty quickly, so if you have a specific date in mind, I’d suggest calling a couple of months in advance. While my 7 year old did perfectly, I wouldn’t bring children unless they are well-behaved and not prone to acting out. It is a very calm and adult atmosphere, and there is nothing to entertain children other than table conversation. This is also not a cheap outing but is well worth the price. Our table of four was around $250 after tip. Overall, this was a very charming lunch out, and I would highly recommend it. I plan on incorporating a monthly tea outing into my social schedule.

Absolute great experience. Service and ambiance are top notch. The food was not good, it was spectacular. Beef tenderloin was a perfect medium and melt in your mouth tender. Smoked Peking duck breast was amazing. Definitely going back.

Fearington House never disappoints, and a casual meal in the bar is no exception. Drinks fabulous (try the Feeling Less Blue), dinner amazing, service impeccable.

“Fine dining” can only begins to describe their mastery of the meal here. Always a wonderful dining experience no matter the time of day. A staple of extraordinary culinary execution in North Carolina, emphasized by their commitment to ingredients straight from the farm.

The food was amazing but the drinks were spectacular! Stacy our host could not have been more accommodating and lovely, but the bartender Cassidy made the most elegant, tasteful, and delicious drinks my wife and I ever had! Just let her work her magic and tell her what you enjoy and she will make you someone you will never forget! Our favorite was the bourbon and ginger mixed drink that will have us coming back to see her! Thank you!

Want a night to remember? Fearrington House has what you need. This inauspicious setting holds some truly fantastic dishes. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and had a wonderful time. The portions are slightly bigger than I expected for such a big tasting menu, but they were manageable without sacrificing the tastes of each course. The wines were absolutely wonderful and well selected. Our favorite dishes were the veal and smoked salmon. The sweet potato Panna Cotta was made perfectly and we had a legitimate ratatouille moment with the smoked salmon.

I cannot say enough good things about the Fearrington House. It is expensive, however, it is so worth every penny. To start, once there, the service is impeccable. The staff is extremely respectful, quick, helpful, and will take care of whatever you need. They made sure to ask if we had any food allergies when I created the reservation, and I had a guest who had a food allergy. As soon as we got seated the waiters knew there was a food allergy and tailored the menu to our needs and told us almost every single ingredient in each dish which we were wondering about. This was probably some of the greatest and most exquisite food I have ever eaten. Highly recommend and will forever wish to come back.
