The Farm, at 17 South is a mandatory rest stop on highway 17 south headed towards Tappahannock, VA. A hidden gem of a five star ⭐️ cuisine tucked into a small restaurant. The atmosphere is eclectic with little knickknacks hanging on the wall that adorns this establishment. The staff was friendly, professional and courteous as I looked over the menu. I made my selections and before I could sit down the food was ready to go. I didn’t mind a walk around to stretch my legs or if I wanted to eat inside the restaurant or dine outdoors on this gorgeous pre-summer day. As I tore through my yummy lunch, I knew one thing for sure is I will be back for more. If you’re headed South on 17, check out The Farm, at 17 South you will not regret it. And your stomach will appreciate the amazing farm fresh food.

Great place for a nice lunch break. Small menu but very delicious food. They have tables on the porch or in the garden. It is lovely sitting here enjoying good food and watching the lizards.

Excellent lunch service. I will definitely be back to try breakfast and dinner services. The crab nachos had fair amount of crab meats and a huge helping of bisque. The fried chicken topped salad was HUGE! The burger was a little over cooked but still juicy and flavorful.

We drove up from Gloucester looking for seafood as the places down here are not great. We both had seafood platters and really enjoyed the flounder, shrimp, crab cakes, wonderful hushpuppies and taters.

Friendly service and great food. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly and was seasoned well. My Reuben was great but thought they buttered the bread too much before grilling. Delicious regardless. We’ll be back!

Excellent food! We started with the rock fish bites appetizer and then I had the jumbo Crab Cakes with two sides and my wife had the crab cakes and shrimp. All of the sides we delicious. between us we had collard greens, mac and cheese, and green beans. The crab cakes had very little or no filler. I could not believe how good these crab cakes are! I highly recommend this place.

Cute place, clean, friendly staff and love the pick your own wildflower stand next door. Plenty of parking and lots of seating. But food selection was limited. Hush puppies seemed homemade but didn’t have much flavor. Burgers, fried fish and shrimp, or BBQ were main menu options. (Or some variety of). They did have salmon on a salad as a healthier choice but I did not try it. A bit pricey. $3.50 for iced tea, and extra charge for the broccoli side instead of fries. Food was okay at best. No homemade desserts but they did have thecookie ice cream sandwichs.
