The food: the momos were great, just like how we get it in India, the red chutney that came with it was amazing. The Everest special biriyani was a little underwhelming. For some reason there was so many green peas in it, just gave the vibe of a veg pulao. But it had chicken and mutton in it, the meat was cooked well. It usually comes with prawns too but we had allergies so we asked to exclude that.
The bill:
Here came the dodgy bit. The waiter gave us a bill without the discount, it was £32.05. It was a simple addition of the prices of the items we ate listed the menu. I quickly said that he forgot to add the discount and he realised it and added in the discount. And the bill was £20. How? The calculation : The discount was 50%, £16. Service charge on top of of 15% on the original bill £4. Total £20. So why wasn’t there a service charge in the first bill that he gave me? No idea, why add 15% service charge? We just ate at a Nother restaurant in Edinburgh and it wS 10%. In London it’s standard 12.5%. How is it 15% here? Anyway it seems a bit dishonest and dodgy that he would add that service charge later and not on the first bill. Disappointing and did not feel right at all. Anyway I paid the bill and left.
Doesn’t encourage me to visit this place again.
Restaurant is on the main street so no hassle in finding the place.
When I went it was not that crowded but should not don’t worry about finding a spot here there are enough of tables for a big groups to join as well, serves liquor of different types like beer or wines.
This is the only place where I found mixed platter and thalis which is offcourse a good option for those who like to go for combination of options in a single order.
In all a good place to stop by … Cheers
We absolutely loved everything about this place — the food, the service, and the atmosphere. The team is so humble and welcoming, and you can truly feel that the food is cooked with heart and soul. Everything tasted fresh, beautifully balanced, and full of layered flavours.
The complimentary Nepalese tea at the end was such a lovely touch. If you’re craving Indian food but want something a little more soulful and authentic, I highly recommend having an experience at EVEREST Restaurant. Delicious, comforting, and memorable.
The staff were incredibly frank, kind, and welcoming. They made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in and were always ready to help with a smile. Their warm hospitality made the experience even more special.
One small suggestion for improvement: the female and male washrooms are located on different sides, and it was a little difficult for me to locate the men’s washroom. If the sign boards were placed higher or made more visible, it would be much easier for guests to identify them quickly.
But in overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy authentic Nepali ambiance and heartfelt hospitality.
