Social Profile:

Passion, love, family and food could simply describe The Etna. Orazio and Lauretta have poured their lives into creating food and an experience for their loyal following and new customers alike. It all started with two brothers from Sicily who don’t just cook food but live it. They started a small humble restaurant with no idea how much people would love their food and restaurant atmosphere… so The Etna was born.

One of the best Italian restaurants we’ve visited in Australia. Truly authentic flavours. The pesto pasta was easily the most delicious I’ve ever had.

We also ordered garlic bread as an entrée, chips for the kids and pasta marinara. Everything was fresh and beautifully prepared.

A lovely touch was the complimentary parmesan offered with the meal ф а my daughter absolutely loved it, which says a lot. A wonderful dining experience overall.

They clearly know how Italian food should be prepared: with skill, quality ingredients and genuine respect for tradition and authenticity.

Disappointing experience.
Ordered the vodka pasta and it honestly tasted nothing like vodka pasta — no depth, no creaminess, just a basic tomato flavour with pasta. Pretty underwhelming.

The pizza was average at best. Dough was okay but toppings lacked flavour and balance, and overall it just felt rushed and forgettable.

For the price, I expected a lot more. Wouldn’t rush back.

I arrived at 7:50pm on a Saturday, and placed an order for a take away prosciutto pizza, I proceeded to wait 47 minutes for my pizza and waited as other people who ordered after me got their pizzas before me. When receiving my pizza it was missing one of the 4 ingredients. No apology was given and all blame was passed on to a different employee. Do not recommend if you want a nice easy pizza!

A prosciutto pizza clearly includes spinach, all I tasted was an excess of Parmesan

Had an excellent lunch at the Etna. We were seated quickly and attended to by friendly staff. Meals included the Etna Special, Seafood Carbonara, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Sicilian Pasta, Seafood Pizza. We had the Cheesy Bacon Garlic Bread for entree. All the meals were very tasty and fresh with the tagliatelle pasta superb. A small venue but that adds to the great atmosphere. If you love Italian I recommend eating here just remember to BYO.

While food was good, service and Atmosphere could be improved. Service was little let down by server. No smiles or greeting.

Looks Italian but that’s where it ends rapidly.
If food is eaten with the eyes you had better put on a blind fold quick smart.
Service although pelite young kids it’s MacDonald’s staff type kids.
Authentic Italian chefs NOPE I think that disappeared some years ago.
Really disappointed we chose here of all the pasta places we chose and Italian in disguise.

This place is outstanding. If you have no pre-conceived ideas about what you want it to be, it is just terrific!

The food was lovely and such good value, but I will address that in a minute. The young waitress impressed me so much. There was just one server on duty when I visited, juggling about 9 or so tables if I recall correctly. She did this very well. She was busy and under pressure, but didn’t let it show. Her courtesy and sincerity was at the forefront and her ability to ensure that everyone got a table, got their meal, had an opportunity to order dessert and provide feedback, was something to see.

I was traveling for work and after a long day, I’m just looking for a passable meal, quickly and ideally without the indifferent blankness that some venues offer in their service. I got it and then some.

I had the Sicilian fettuccine. The pasta was perfect, the prawns and the squid were cooked optimally and the sauce was not overpowering. Parmesan and chilli flakes were available in abundance and the serving size was generous. As I was deliberating, I was able to lean over to the open kitchen and query the chef who was obliging despite the volume of dishes she was preparing. I loved her no BS responses with again, clear sincerity that she would hope I made a good choice.

Normally, traveling on the company’s dime, I would skip dessert, but as I thought about telling my wife about the pasta, I knew that she would inquire as to the quality of the Tiramisu. In light of this, I partook in that indulgence. It was beautifully presented and among the best I have had.

I am not a food snob. I am not a connoisseur, but I have traveled broadly, both nationally and internationally and I regard this as one of the best casual dining experiences that I have had in non-state-capital city Australia. It may even rival some of the experiences in the aforementioned cities.

What a fantastic little find amongst the Darby strip. Currently on a work trip from Sydney, so I was just looking for something hearty and delicious to warm the cockles of my heart as they say. Their pasta “The Etna” came highly recommended and it did not disappoint.

Awesome experience, our party arrived and got our pizzas ahead of the angry customer before us. Unfortunately, this only resulted in this customer abusing the staff and whining. Pizza was fantastic, they even put on some extra ingredients on the house!
