We were excited to try The Eproson House for the first time, but unfortunately the experience fell short of expectations. We ordered the 10oz Flank steak, and it took quite a long time to come out. When it finally arrived, it was cold. After sending it back, the replacement still came out only lukewarm. The steak itself lacked seasoning or flavor, and the sides that came with it weren’t very enjoyable either. We ended up relying on A1 sauce just to make it decent.

On the positive side, the bread with oil and vinegar was outstanding, and the drinks were excellent — definitely the highlight of the evening. Our waitress was kind and tried to make up for the experience by not charging us for the drinks, which we really appreciated. That gesture stood out even though the food itself was disappointing.

Unfortunately, overall service seemed overwhelmed for a Thursday night; we even overheard other diners commenting on how long it was taking to get their food.

While we appreciated the great drinks and thoughtful service from our waitress, the main dishes left us underwhelmed, and we’re not sure we’d return anytime soon.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is great, service is good, and the restaurant is a quaint little place with lots of history. The bar is my favorite place to dine, but with kids, outdoors is perfect. There aren’t many places out there like Twain Harte anymore!

We were referred to The Eproson house by a long term local. We had high hopes. We were disappointed.
We were seated quickly as we got there just after they opened. The waiter was indifferent at best.
I had prime rib and my wife ordered a rib eye, we also shared a beet salad.
The salad was quite good.
The prime rib was good, but the mashed potatoes were lukewarm. The rib eye and the mashed potatoes were lukewarm at best, and the steak was just so-so.

We went for our anniversary dinner and the food was pretty good. The chicken piccata sauce was a little heavier than what we’re accustomed to, but was still pretty good. I only got 3 shrimp with my steak and shrimp, so it was a little disappointing for the price we paid. The steak was flavorful- I do have to give them credit there. The service was not great but the wait staff was friendly enough. It was very loud inside the restaurant and made it difficult to have a decent conversation without having to yell. Overall though, we did enjoy ourselves and we would return again in the near future.

First time going to this restaurant and fell in love with it. The staff was super friendly wish I could remember the bartenders name but she was amazing. She said she was fairly new there but we couldn’t tell. She was so helpful and friendly. We sat out back and she made onus and our Pitbull feel right at home. Great food, great drinks, great service 10/10 recommend.

I wanted a good steak so I told my wife to hop in the car so we could go and try this place out. I was NOT disappointed in the slightest! It’s in a cozy little spot up in Twain Harte, the food was delicious through and through. I ate the entire steak with garlic compote butter. The orange blossom Moscow mule was the best mule I’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot. They have live music, karaoke and other events too. I will 100% be back to have another date night with my wife.

Been going there long time. Last 2 years seems to be going in a bad direction. Good very inconsistent. Service had last night was atrocious, waiter could be heard talking nasty about previous staff and the chefs. She must lost track where she was cause I had to ask the other waiters to check on my food. Came out cold undercooked and over priced with a 40$ + steak salad Wow

I had the bar menu prime rib sandwich, Philly cheese style with fries, it was beyond excellent!

Next time I would ask for the fries to be a little bit on the crisp side as is my personal preference.

I had an old fashioned from the young female bartender and it was excellent!

The guy who was tending bar with the earrings, didn’t do so good.
He forgot to place our order and seemed a bit lost.

Way over priced for what it is, most of the dinner is ala carte, 89$ for 2 tiny bowls of pasta no salad, potato, or veggies came with the pasta, 4 beers and a tip was 105$$!!! Rib eye was overcooked and cost 46$ for one steak, don’t waste your time. Waitress was great.

We have been meaning to try the Eproson House for sometime now. We finally did. I really wanted to have a good meal and we were in the mood for a nice dinner. Was a Tuesday night, only 2 other tables when we arrived. Took a while to be seated but after that the service was good. Our waiter was attentive and kept the glasses full. The atmosphere was good and the building history is interesting.

She ordered the Parmesan Cheese Risotto with Salmon. It was extremely cheesy, so much so, there was an oil residue in the bowl. I love Risotto but we both found it inedible. The salmon had good flavor but was a bit dry. At 30.00 for the dish, we were disappointed.

I had the Chicken Marsala. The chicken had a strange texture to it. Reminded me of calamari. Frozen maybe? The sauce was runny with a vinegar taste to it. The garlic mashed potatoes were excellent!

With all the 4 and 5 stars I hate giving only 2 but our experience was not what we had hoped for. We will probably give it one more try since we are fairly local and update if we have a better experience.
