I was taking my old pal Hairlip Louie to Pinole so he could get a new Belson G-Ledder before the end of the current lunar cycle…don’t ask why, and when the Hairlip spotted The Embers BBQ Joint he said “wets gwo eat wear” and that was it we couldn’t go any further without eating.

I’ve been there three times. It has been a very mixed bag. I had chicken fried steak and eggs yesterday. It was one of the worst I have ever had. The steak was obviously frozen and deep-fried until it was hard as rock. The country gravy was thin and tasteless.

Great service at this restaurant, being going here since I was a kid, the only thing I would say is their salads use to be better, but still great food. Love the open face turkey.

I would like to say good stuff about this locale, and was looking forward to trying out various dishes with friends. We arrived at 7:35p. Google says they close at 9. The staff let us know the sign on the door said 8, and asked if we were interested in take out. Hopefully there will be an opportunity to revisit when they are open and willing to serve customers so I can update this review.

Been coming here for 25+ years. From the moment you walk in the smell of BBQ makes you feel at home. The staff is a little cranky at time but the service is always great. I have yet to come in here that it wasn’t busy. No frills decor just really great food, at an affordable price, served by hardworking staff that have never disappointed me.

The whole experience was wonderful; their menu is complete with pictures and easy to read. although I’ve eaten here several times, it was seamless! Our waitress was extremely thoughtful to bring water (hot, cold & refills), to not rush us & me (while waiting nearly 25 minutes for my guest). The food was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed chocolate chip pancakes with link sausages, and Bob ordered the mushroom omelet, which he thoroughly enjoyed! My bill, including tip, was $31 – reasonable considering I had more to eat at home. Go to Embers & enjoy your experience!

Pretty silly that you have to let your server know that you want 2 pieces of toast. Currently the owner made the decision that too much toast is thrown out…maybe take the cost off? They also need more toasters to keep up with the orders. Smoked meats are good.

Horrible experience. The “BBQ” was cooked at least the day before. The waitress put our 3 orders together, then got upset and said that we should’ve told her it would be separate. Told has that she couldn’t separate the check afterwards. Me and my co workers will NEVER come back here. If you like food that isn’t fresh and servers with attitudes then this is the place for you.

My favorite places of all time. Love the turkey sandwich on Persian rolls and ribs. Breakfast is amazing as well.
