The shrimp tacos were bright and flavorful, with perfectly cooked shrimp that had just the right amount of flavor. The toppings were fresh and balanced, adding crunch and acidity without overwhelming the seafood. Every bite felt thoughtfully assembled.
The classic smash burger was equally impressive. Cooked with that signature crispy edge that smash burgers are known for, the patty was juicy and deeply flavorful. Paired with a soft bun and simple, well-chosen toppings, it was a reminder that great burgers don’t need to be complicated—they just need to be done right.
Perhaps the most telling moment came when another patron at a nearby table mentioned they had driven over 100 miles round trip just to try it out based on a friend’s suggestion. They left very satisfied.
After this meal, that didn’t seem surprising at all.

We LOVE this place and so glad they opened in Ava! Shrimp tacos are my favorite, but the kids love the hamburgers. Fast service, clean space, great prices, delicious food

WARNING! Eating the absolutely delicious shrimp tacos from The Edgy Hippie will RUIN you. No matter where else you go in the country, you will simply not be able to find any that are better. As I’m posting this, I wish they were open so I could go buy two orders!
Not to mention they have the BEST SMASH BURGER in the state!
You could stop with those two items and you’d have the best food truck cuisine you can experience. But then there’s the rest of the menu. Oh Em Gee. Ashley and Mark cycle in various dishes that are nothing short of stupendously delicious. I don’t know how they do it. The culinary wizardry they inject puts this food on a different level. These folks 100% care about the artistry they are creating!
Look, I’ll put this another way. Do you ever bite into something, then close your eyes and do a little dance because it’s so good? Yeah, it’s like that EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Went for the first time today to Edgy Hippie, it was pretty darned amazing! The menu is simple… they had just added a new menu board that included a special smash burger… ordered a single for my bride and a double for myself. WOW!! Juicy and full of flavor, with caramelized onions and pepper jack cheese… so good! The side of fries came out hot, and stayed hot/warm for the duration of our meal. Spoke wish Ashley (who owns the restaurant with her hubby), told her it was the best burger I’ve had in the US in a long time. (I’ve had some pretty good burgers recently in Brazil. )
