Very small diner and good food. Pancakes were not very fluffy but ok. Quick service but they seemed to be a little understaffed, with only two servers doing everything from cleaning tables, serving food and collecting payment. We were never offered a refill for our coffee. Home fries and fries had a heavy oily taste.

5-star roadside dinner experience. On our way from Middlebury to Burlington, we wanted a good breakfast. Dutch Mill Diner did not disappoint us. Terrific breakfast reasonably priced. My husband said that his corn beef hash was one of best, and my breakfast sandwich was tasty!

Very much like going to gramma’s house for a home-cooked meal. The hospitality is top-notch and even though the small dining room of about 10 tables was packed, my husband and I were seated for brunch on a Sunday in about 5 minutes. Clearly this place is popular for the service and the food and not for the atmosphere… which, in my experience, atmosphere isn’t a necessity for some good eats. We sat at the 2 seats at the bar and the view was a pile of old office equipment and clutter ever so slightly covered in dust, and a wall that has been tarnished by years of serving up some fried goodies. Again, the service made up for this. We had three different staff members wait on us during our time there – the coffee gal, the host, the waitress – all speeding around constantly tending to the needs of the patrons. The cooks whipped up our meals in less than 10 minutes! Eggs Benedict with the corned beef was a huge hit and my husband ate every bite of the giant plate! I had a veggie omelet which was a bit dry, a delicious buttered English muffin, homefries were perfect, and a side of bacon which was a bit thin (almost like mivrowave bacon) but cooked crunchy how I like it. Overall a very decent brunch to energize us for a day of exploring the area – we would go back!

Very quaint little diner, every time I drive by the parking lot is full.
That’s always the best indicator of a good place to eat!
This place is family owned ( 3rd generation) and operated, small but serves up delicious food!
They even have accolades posted from the local newspapers.
You may have a little bit of a wait to be seated but the wait is well worth it.
I had sausage gravy and a biscuit with home fries and coffee, it was very tasty!
I have traveled all over and not everyone can make good sausage gravy, and the home fries were a nice addition. The coffee was hot and tasted like old fashioned diner coffee( my favorite).
My server Maddie was very sweet and fast! This place was packed and she was constantly moving, but not too busy for a kind word and a smile.
I definitely recommend giving this place a try for Breakfast or Lunch!

We can’t believe we’ve lived in Shelburne 3 years and just ate here for the first time. Great service, delicious food, generous portion size. We don’t eat out a lot for breakfast but this will be the new go to place when we do. This is diner food at its best.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Our family of 5 really enjoyed our breakfast here. We had a short wait to be seated, but once we were seated service was super fast and attentive. The food was excellent. We had omelets, eggs and hash, and chocolate chip cookie dough pancakes. Rave reviews from the entire table. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely by far the 3 egg omelet with potatoes I have ever had. Hubby said the tuna melt was delicious. Uncle said patty melt was really good, aunt ordered her burger medium but it came out well done and dry. The history was really neat to read all about it and the staff was very friendly.

My partner and I visited today for our breakfast and had an okay experience. Here are our thoughts.

Items ordered: Breakfast burrito, Jack Gouger Benedict

Pros:
– Quick and friendly service
– Good flavor on both the burrito and Benedict
– Tasty, well seasoned and cooked homefries
– Sausage gravy was flavorful

Cons:
– Poached eggs were overcooked on the inside. Was expecting a nice, runny egg, which was disappointing
– Breakfast burrito was greasy, had some brown lettuce and lacked a decent amount of meat
– Specials are on the pricier sider
– Space is very small

Overall:
The Dutch Mill is a pretty average diner experience. There are some cool specials and good flavors, but nothing to write home about. I would come again if I was passing through and needed breakfast, but wouldn’t go out of my way to come back. Also, try to arrive before 10-10:30, as it got busy right after we walked in around 9:45.

Very tasty local food! The ham is amazing, and the potatoes are so delicious! Breakfast serves all day long. Very busy local business and the wait time is usually 10-15 mins. Popular diner amongst local customers.

We arrived at opening, 07:30 Sunday, to super friendly staff and no wait. The apple-cheddar omelet was delightful as was the hash. Hollandaise primo. If they did home fries on the grill, their food rating would be a “5” too. The deep fried potato they serve, while crispy, adds unneeded calories and grease.
