We came for the mini golf right next door, and found this little gem right next to it. I’m glad we got here early, because by the time we left at noon, they were parking 3 blocks away and walking in. I haven’t seen this many people at a restaurant In along time. I’m really glad we ate here. This was an unexpected treat. …and they have those here too.
Enjoy…

What an amazing Eatery and an amazing area to explore along the river! This Classic Diner has everything you want and more. There’s even miniature golf next door and on the property. Of course they are known for their homemade root beer which was classic and super satisfying on a warm day. We stopped by here with the team from work and we had a variety of items off the menu including cheese curds, the All-American burger, the veggie burger, the turkey burger, plus sweet potato fries french fries and onion rings. Everything was amazing classic refreshing and delicious. Everything you expect from a diner

The hostess was a completely worthless individual. Could not believe her attitude. There was an empty table available near a small water feature I asked to sit near and she walked us right by it and to a table in the sun. I asked, was that too busy back there where I asked to sit? She replied, yeah a bit …….. 3 minutes later she sat a couple at that exact table. It’s my anniversary by the way. Thanks for the memories. Little brunette with her hair in a pony tail and black converse shoes with black stripe on the white soles. If the owner reads this, demote her. A broom would be a more suitable position.

Our actual server was amazing however. I asked about the root beer because the enormous spinning sign is a FrostTop root beer mug. She said is was not FrostTop however. She said it was homemade. I asked for a sample if able and she went and got one. Great service right there. Give her a raise. It’s the small things that make a visit memorable. She absolutely succeeded. Her name was Beth.

The place itself was very clean with unique stone/cement table tops. Helped absorb the overfilled frosted root beer mugs!!

The waffle fries called “cross track” or the like, were fabulous. They came with sour cream and when I mixed in ketchup…..wow.

Looks like there is mini putt here as well. Wish me luck on the links!!

The building and environment is nice. We stood waiting to be helped for 10 minutes, were asked “have you been helped” said no, and then the server walked away. We stood there for 10 more minutes at least watching 6 servers do nothing behind the bar and then we finally were asked if we wanted food. Had to ask again to be sat down. The food is not worth getting, the root beer was flat and so sweet I couldn’t drink it. Maybe the mini golf is great, cool to say I’ve been here, won’t ever be back though.

This was fantastic. A throwback indeed. Not just a remake of times gone by that actually kept up since those times. Also awesome! Was the young lady at the counter who learning what my students major was connected her with her mother who she said might have a job for her fantastic! Oh, and I love the root beer and root beer float! That was my dad’s favorite!

One of the worst hamburgers I have ever eaten. Overdone, dry and no seasoning. Bees everywhere.

The fantastic twisting bank heist movie Marmalade was filmed at this drive-in in Taylor Falls as well as in Henderson, Jordan, Lake Elmo, and Stillwater.
