Italian entrees, homemade desserts & a variety of wines are offered in a warm, relaxed setting.
How it is Liz
The Dove is a great little Italian restaurant off the beaten path in Orchard Park. It has fantastic home made food and excellent service! I went on a weeknight so it wasn’t busy and we got right in. I really enjoyed and appreciated the complimentary meatballs and limoncello intermezzo. The pasta and chicken piccata were divine as were the cocktails. Our waitress Lisa was not only a wonderful server but also a fun comedian even naming the dish to go on the take home box! I highly recommend supporting this small business. They are great people working hard to make every meal special for their customers!

My wife and I decided to try a new place. We’ve driven by here a million times so figured we’d give it a try. The waitress was nice, but anything good ended right there. First they brought out a small bowl of pasta fagioli and told us it was complimentary (we’ll come back to that). The soup was weird and the pasta was mushy in it. We both only had a couple bites. This was served with a bowl of diced raw onions that didn’t look too fresh. They left that on our table to stink up the place even though we asked for no onions on our salads. Who serves a bowl of raw diced onions??? Then we got the escargot we ordered. It was so salty it was gross. Usually escargot is garlicky and buttery. This was salty snail. Then they served the side salads that were part of the entrees. We asked for dressing on the side, but they put it right on the salad anyway. Then the last straw arrived, our entrees. My wife ordered the chicken parm and I got a special shrimp in penne with a white wine cream sauce. We both took one bite and we were done. We couldn’t even pretend to like it if we wanted to. Her’s was pure salt flavor. Mine was salt with a strong flavor of fish going bad. The hilarious part is they gave us a lemoncello shot as a palate cleanser just before the entrees. As if we were in for a treat lol. The waitress asked if we wanted anything else and we declined. She took our meals back to the kitchen where we could here her arguing with the kitchen staff. My guess it was the owner who needs a shock of reality that his food sucks and maybe he should hire a real chef. Anyway, when the waitress finally comes back, she says they’re charging us for the 4 cocktails we had (not good either but fine I’ll pay for my drinks), the salads they ruined, and the so called “complementary” soup we never asked for. That was almost $100. For that experience! Never again.
Edit: I’m not hiding behind a screen. My name is right there. Hire a real chef.

Visited with friend for my birthday. Had never been there. Was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent. We had the dinner for two /$55. We were greeted with warm welcomes and our server was very attentive. Would recommend going here to anyone who likes warmth and good food.

A must try place! Want good food? Want a great staff experience (thank you Lisa)? Want to feel appreciated? Old school dining experience… at great prices. This is the place to go. And the gentleman filling our water glasses and clearing the dishes was incredible.

Hadnt been in yesrs and thought we give it a go. Salad was fresh and delightful. Mestball they give was good too. Lemoncello pallete cleanser was nice. Hubby ordered fish special and he enjoyed. This is where it went downhill. I ordered chicken parm. Chicken coating was egg-like instead of bread. Its was unappetizing. The pasta sauce was like water. Took it all home. We then ordered 2 tiramisu to go. What an absolute disappointment. It was super mushy and not good. Through it all away.

We came for lunch – fair prices and good food. Service felt a bit slow – there were only 4 tables seated but it seemed to take a long time to order and be served. Perhaps I was impatient. The soup and salad were good and the shrimp and pasta were good. As others have said in their reviews, the decor felt a bit dated inside. Friendly service, attentive.

As a widowed single mother of a 5 year old (who eats cereal 3 meals a day) occasionally I will call up the restaurant and ask kindly if they would be willing to do a takeout order for me. The staff and the owners are always so wonderful and accommodating. The food is top notch, freshly prepared and piping hot. From the house salad dressing to the delicious pasta sauce, everything is always wonderful. I am truly grateful for the delicious, non chicken nugget dinner, that I am usually subjected to. Thanks Ladies. Keep up the great work. Also cant wait for the next wine dinner.

We have been going to the Dove for twenty years. Reasons, the food, the staff and the Chef. When I saw the recent one star review from Dick, oops, Rick, it got me thinking. So, I checked out his other reviews. Apparently, he should stick with pizza joints.
What is “hilarious” is how many discounted meals have you “earned” over the years? Oh, the Chef, is femaile, do your homework next time! 4.5 Star Reviews, so you might be the problem. Next time you “drive by”, please keeping going, we might be there!

I need to say that when I see this place I want to puke in my mouth. The amount of salt that they use in their main meals is deplorable!!!! This is the most vile restaurant I’ve ever been in the 716! The waitress, Diane was absolutely incredible! The food was terrible! Salty! Gross! Made me puke! The worst part? They made us pay for our soup and salad when it was part of our meal? Our meal was horrid!!! We paid it and tipped our waitress well because she was great! The food was gross!!! We heard the cook holler and swear at our waitress! It was absolutely insane! I’d rate zero stars if I could.

So, now we have a “Ken” review (eye roll)! Three stars because you had to take your hat off at a fine dining restaurant, really!
Did you really need a sign to tell you what you should know already? Common courtesy didn’t come to mind? You should join Karen (below) at Burger King. They will even give you a crown to wear in the restaurant. Sheesh!!!
I normally don’t post reviews, but after seeing “Luz” – (Karen’s) review, I had to make that exception! We have been going to the Dove for over twenty years (no relation). The last several years, we have been going at least monthly. We have yet to have any type of experience “Luz” allegedly had. You obviously have more issues in your life then what you thought you experienced at the Dove. The food (always hot, delicious and large portions) and the service (always friendly, not fast (like it should be) or go to Olive Garden). The alcohol shot (mouth taste) to funny, it’s called sorbet, a palate cleanser before your entree. We recommend you stick with fast food places. “Stealing a baby”. Are you serious! Good thing you don’t judge people without knowing who is involved. What’s “scargo” (again, to funny). I hope the new year gets better for you Luz. Hopefully, your next Whopper is cooked right and fast when you pick it up at the drive through window. Wow!!
