Great local donuts, fresh, flavorful and good variety! Its a small local shop and their donuts were chefs kiss of flavor and freshness. Going back for more!

What a great spot! We were staying at Camp Hatteras and wanted some pizza! Lisa’s was closed on Tuesday so we decided to give Dough Shack a try. We drove our golf cart close and walked the last 75 yards. We ordered at the self serve kiosk, really easy and convenient because the counter was busy! While we waited we actually met the owner, supper nice and fun to talk with, as my kids were trying to bribe me into getting doughnuts the owner actually comped me a dozen, my kids were thrilled, I tried to pay for them but he insisted. The pizzas were nice, fresh, and tasty. Got to watch the kitchen work while we waited, great staff! Hard to decide if I’ll order delivery next time or just stop back in, I don’t think I’ll be wrong either way! Great to have another option in Rodanthe!

Not MY favorite but it might me yours! The pizza was very bland to me and had too much crust. I only wanted 1 piece but my husband likes it so I gave the 4 stars. The donuts were fine. (With the exception on the key lime donut it was very good!) The chocolate stripes tasted like Hershey chocolate syrup and that was a little strange. The male worker was very nice.

We ordered a couple of pizzas, when I went to pick them up they had an oven issue so the pizzas were partially done. They weren’t able to finish them, so I offered to take them as is and finish cooking them back at the house. They felt really bad so they also gave me a refund. Hope they got things fixed quickly as they got some of the best pizza on the island.

Love this place. Both the pizzas and donuts were amazing. They weren’t just good for the beach they were good for anywhere. They also have a really good gluten-free pizza. Make sure to order early in the day as sometimes they get bought out.

Stopped in on a whim for our last breakfast before heading home, best we’ve ever had! I’d take them over the other popular store in the area any day.

Cute little donut shop. The manager made our breakfast sandwiches fresh. They were out of chocolate milk at the time, but they had plenty of everything else. I wish I had bought more of the bacon and maple donuts. That was really good. I also loved that he offered a small explanation of the items that we ordered. “This is a sugar and cinnamon glazed donut. This one is bacon with a maple syrup glaze.”

The trick by an employee garnered a $10 tip for the crew. They’re lucky I didn’t see my pizza first. For $23, all I got were Hawaiian Pizza type flavoring. As my son put it…minimal effort on the pie. We won’t go back.

We have had doughnuts from there before and thought they were great. We went today and got a dozen, super disappointed. The owner was nice enough and the service was quick, but the doughnuts themselves were dry, the glazing just flaked off and they were not even close to what we get from out local shops back home. Also the price online says $13.99 per dozen, its more like $30/ dozen, just FYI
