Pizza was good but they were skimpy on toppings. The onions and peppers were diced small and no banana peppers. Service was good and nice atmosphere.

Walking into The Dough Company for the first time in many years. Professionally greated and seated, now if I have to critique something is that the booths are not big guy friendly, so if you are a bigger guy, just to right for a table. I started out with a cup of their piggie soup, from the seasonings to the rice and hamburger this tasted like it was made on the top of my Polish Grandma’s stove. The taste and flavors took me back like I was in the old country. I also ordered their medium original pizza with extra cheese and onions. The pizza tasted like it did back in the eighty’s, if there was a difference you couldn’t tell, outstanding!
For dessert I got their chocolate mousse. If you love chocolate then this is the dessert you want to try. If you have never been here, come check them out. If your old school like me, go on back. Oh, there is just one other small other critique. Go back old school and stay open until eleven o’clock. Have a great day everyone!

I feel this place needs a facelift. I came in with a birthday coupon I found from my late mom. There was no experation date on it for a free pasta dinner which only would have valued $10. Apparently they could not spare it. They told me it was too old from 15 years ago because it listed their Dallas location which no longer exists. So ok I wasn’t going to fight with the blond haired lady. I asked about getting a sauce switched to a different pasta and I was given the excuse of the sauces are pre measured for each pasta and it’s a $3 upcharge which is insane. So I had to settle for the vodka sauce on penne. Also the piggy soup tastes very bland. I needed to load it with salt. It used to taste better. I was rather disappointed. Apparently they don’t do the comment cards anymore either. I guess they felt they were pointless and kept ignoring them. My parents and I used to be faithful customers. I guess I’ll be visiting olive garden. Less drama there over small things and more accommodating.

First time visit and the Greek salad has a really exceptional dressing, made in-house, and I wish they sold it by the bottle it’s so good. Pasta was very good too but the salad was the standout and our server, Alyssa, was the real star of the visit. Made us feel super welcome and elevated the experience. We’ll be back soon to try the soups and the pot pie.

Update from 2nd visit: Still haven’t tried the soup, but today we got chicken pot pies, and they’re really good. The chicken stew is hearty and chunky; the gravy is mild and creamy, and the crust is pastry-style, draped over the edge of the crockery bowl they bake it in, so you get lots of nice edge-pieces of crust. Delicious. Service was once again excellent, too, and we had a bit of the spumoni, which is a great example of the type (it’s hard to find spumoni at most local Italian places lately, and it’s a tradition I’m old enough to miss, I suppose). The Dough Company’s spumoni has particularly nice cherry notes, and the chocolate part has a nice rich cocoa flavor. We only ordered a half-serving and split it, because we’re diabetic and should not be messing with spumoni after having a pot pie (!), but: even just a small bit was very rewarding. And of course, we had the Greek Salad again and I can’t imagine coming here and not having some.

The Double Crust White Pizza was phenomenal! Light, crispy crust filled with gooey cheese…nice Rosemary flavor in the seasonings on top! The Bacon Pizza was lack luster. Hardly any bacon, more sauce than cheese. ‍♀️ Very friendly staff and enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere though.

We had dinner here the last month and the food was excellent. The place is known for its pizzas and this month we ordered a large pizza and found that the pizza had way too much sauce and not enough cheese. The sausage and mushrooms was great. Mushrooms were fresh not canned but it was a very sloppy pizza to eat. The crust was excellent and we would eat there again but we would order our pizza with less sauce and more cheese. I recommend them and we will return to them again.

I’m sorry but the late 3 times we got pizza there it has been terrible. We ask for extra cheese and I think we get get less. Look at the picture. The lady at the counter said it was extra cheese but it could use more on the edges. They did offer to cook a new one but I was hungry and didn’t want to wait again.
I also told them that everyone we get pizza the cuts are all different sizes ranging from a double cut to a half cut.
I really like the food but for $21 they are getting very sloppy and cheap. Time to look for a new place.
Thank you.

The Dough Company has been Wilkes-Barre Township staple for nearly 40 years. Located on Kidder Street, the business has withstood the test of time while other nearby restaurants and establishments grew and withered. The venue has a casual, “family restaurant” vibe and a patron can be warmly greeted and pleasantly served.

We arrived on a Tuesday evening and were seated immediately. There were plenty of tables open and remained that way throughout our visit.

The items on the menu were mainly Italian dishes. Pasta and tomato sauce, pizza, strombolis, etc. Surprisingly, the more tasty dishes we ordered were not Italian, but more of a local, home-cooked flair.

The homemade Piggy Soup was very flavorful, with ground beef and cabbage in a tomato based broth. Although cabbage is a main ingredient in “Piggies,” it seemed to be lacking in the soup itself. Nevertheless, the dish was enjoyable.

The Chicken Pot Pie was also delicious, with the pie crust overflowing from the rim of the bowl. The meal included chicken, peas, and carrots, immersed in a thick, creamy chicken gravy.

The pizza itself was average. The cheese pizza was a thin, no-frills pie that satisfied the hunger, but nothing that stood out (which is hard to do in Northeastern Pennsylvania, with a very large volume of pizza parlors that have their own unique taste). Although the pie was not terrible, there are many other venues that serve more pleasing offerings.

The double-crusted 4-piece white pizza was a little better, with melted cheese and Italian seasonings oozing from the sides. The dough was fresh, soft, and definitely filling.

The penne vodka was the most disappointing, however. The sauce was not creamy as one would expect, and was flat, lacking any flavor. The side salad was also uneventful, with two cucumbers, a tomato, a strip of green pepper, iceberg lettuce buried underneath a bed of shredded carrots. The dressing came in a small container.

The longevity of The Dough Company suggests that it has a loyal following, and it’s good to see a local business thrive over the years. With the exception of the penne vodka meal, I wasn’t thoroughly disappointed with the meals, nor was I extremely pleased. Although I don’t regret visiting the eatery, I probably won’t be clamoring for a return visit anytime soon.

My absolute favorite pizza! Perfect crust, tasty sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. I’m so happy that they actually put sauce on their pizza and not just paint it on like other places. And it’s consistent as well! To The Dough Company, do not ever change your recipe or technique, it’s absolutely perfect.
