This place was amazing. The servers were exceptional and oh my gosh was the food SO good. New York striploin and blackened fish. Both cooked exceptionally. So many delecate sauces with the dishes. It was a 5 star experience. Also, the price… Exceptional. You could tell the chef put alot of cars into each dish. Dessert was creme brulee cheesecake. The sauce tasted JUST like melted creme brulee heaven. If you’re in Sydney, Nova Scotia you must go to the Dory Pub & Restaurant. It’s located inside the Dobson Yacht club.

Great food with outstanding views The Dory offers fantastic food, service and oceanic views.
We had such a great dinner at The Dory and the staff were exception. Bringing over heat lamps and blankets to make sure our many guests were comfortable, the service was second to none. The food was local, fresh and outstanding.

Nice place. Pretty fancy but also quite loud.
I just got into town saw the 4.8 stars and decided to try it out.
Service was good and the seafood chowder was quite tasty. I ordered the blackened fish and was disappointed to see it was one of those “plate is 3X as big as it needs be” places.
Food was good, service was excellent however I didn’t feel I received good value for the $60 with one glass of wine.

Believe every great review you’ve read about this place. That’s how we found it. All seafood was fresh. Hot dishes were served hot, cold dishes were cold. Portions generous. Staff very attentive. Indoor and outdoor seating with a water view of Sydney. We will be back.

My wife and I stopped by the other night for supper. We both ordered two-piece fish and chips. The fish was delicious. It is always great to come home to fish and chips that use haddock – next level. The pieces of fish were perfectly cooked and were a large serving size. I will say that although the meal was great, the coleslaw was rather bland compared to other coleslaw in the area. The service was outstanding – our waitress was super friendly and did everything to make our meal even better. It can be a little over-crowded, and I would suggest making a reservation. They also have an outdoor eating area as it starts to warm up. I can definitely attest to an amazing fish and chips meal. Stop by and try this area classic. Thanks.

Exceptional service, drinks and food!!
I booked a large group for my mother’s 80th Birthday . From start to finish the service was excellent. The owner Neil, met me at the door and took the cake to the kitchen, they even put candles on it(I totally forgot candles). We were a party of 20 and our server Terry took care of us all with the best customer service and humor. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The food and drinks were not only delicious (try the Sea Urchin Margarita…thank me later) but reasonably priced. I can not wait to visit in the summer. The location is gorgeous.

I got the side of seafood chowder and a peach salad. The chowder was a pretty good portion, so I’m glad I didn’t get the full size. It was DELICIOUS but it would have been too much food with also a salad.
The wait staff was great — friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice but lost a couple stars from us because it was loud and rowdy inside, along with 4-5 birthday songs sang during dinner.
I’d recommend going, and sitting outside if it’s a nice day. We’d happily go again if we are ever back in the area.

What a wonderful place!! Attention to detail second to none.. Wait staff very excellent to us, no reservation but they slipped us into a spot and made us feel very welcome.. Our waitress (who was from my mom’s province of NB) was super friendly and helped us choose some great items… Blackened haddock was to die for!! The beet/peach salad was also amazing! No words but wow!! The fish and chips were perfectly cooked as well… the gentleman whom we assume a manager or owner but whoever he was never stopped with serving, and pr! Great to see the enthusiasm and energy of everyone. Seems like a well knit team. We will definitely be back..

We ate here our last night in North Sydney. We made reservations in advance and were glad we did, because we would not have been able to get in without a reservation. We had a great spot, overlooking the harbor and looking across to the Big Fiddle. We all had great meals and the service was excellent.

The food are delicious. This dinner represents the pinnacle of our dining experiences throughout the East Coast road trip. The pricing is competitive, given the high caliber of the cuisine. We are thoroughly impressed. Don’t miss this place if you travel to Cape Breton.
