Food is extraordinary. Full of flavor, great presentation, and cooked fresh. Diversity of draft and beverage options available. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Social entertainment consists of a few tvs on the walls, a pool table, a dart board, and a bucket of pull tabs. It’s definitely an eatery that’s worth going to. Owner Nate is heavily vested in all operations of the business and truly cares about it.

The BEST burgers in Dane County! If you’re in the MoHo area this is THE place to go for a good burger. Gourmet bun options, fresh crafted toppings, tons of meat, cooked to order! Love the rotating specials. Also have great apps: cheese curds and super tots are killer! Always great service, can’t recommend enough!

I think the experience you have really depends on who is working the grill that night. The service was good, attentive and kind. Our loaded burgers were NOT it- took 40 min to come out and the bottom bun was soggy, bacon was the hardest I’ve ever experienced. I did not know bacon could cook that hard. Fries were good though! With so many local options we don’t plan to give it another try soon 🙁

Wow, wow, AND wow!
After a great game of U11 baseball ⚾️, my son and I decided to go to The Grumpy Troll…my go-to when I’m in Mt. Horeb. I got into the area and drove around to find a parking spot. We spotted one of our baseball families walking out of TGT, and we rolled down the window and asked why? They said it was a 35-minute wait…uhhh no. The father of the other family suggested this place just around the corner. What a GREAT suggestion! Unless we get the cook on a good day…WOW these burgers R huge!!! The fries R also great! The price is just a tad under the braking point for me, BUT I’m willing to pay at least what they R asking for! Worth the money! Considering there were only two workers…the service was pretty good too! I’m sure they didn’t expect a bunch of us to pile in. Great job and great food! At least 4.5 stars ⭐️

Stop at it again…DID NOT FAIL late Feb/early March…definitely haven’t changed my mind and will continue to go there this summer cause my crumbs crunchers have traveling sports! What a nice find and hopefully they keep going!

If you haven’t been to Mt. Horeb. You got to go. If you do. Stop by The Dog House. Voted one of the best burgers in the state. Good ol’ school music and awesome food. Great friends that you treat you like family.

Very cool dive bar, went here on my hunt for the best burger in WI, did not disappoint, not the BEST burger thus far but it was less samey than a lot of establishments and absolutely not a spot to skip over, I would highly recommend this place

– Very well cooked, beef quality and fat balance very good
– Well seasoned patty but does not cover up the flavor of the meat
– Tastes slightly grilled compared to most flat-top burgers
– Asiago (I think) bun very soft and fluffy, and goes extremely well with the flavor profile of the patty

Small sports bar with good atmosphere. Service was a bit slow but was worth the wait. Food was excellent! Burgers and fries were a bit more upscale than regular “bar food”. We will come again.
