We were on our way home from a road trip and needed lunch for a family of four. We love supporting local and this place was awesome! Our 15 year old said the fries were way better than McDonald’s! The hot dogs were great and our younger son enjoyed a grilled cheese. The prices were great especially after a lot of over priced beach food. We all enjoyed watching the food cook on the open grills and the staff were super friendly. They treated us, and everyone walking in, like family. They seemed to be having fun!

A basic, no-frills hot dog restaurant serving cheese steaks, grilled cheese sandwiches, hamburgers, and hotdogs, with counter style seating that’s cash only! The Dog House serves up one of the best hotdogs I’ve ever had! The foot long was split and grilled with added mustard, relish, and sauerkraut, a side of fries, and a huge Pepsi completely hit the spot for a lunch break!! The entire experience was on point!! I’ll definitely be back!

Have not been here in a few years. Under new ownership. First thing we noticed was the Beautiful old dog house sign had been removed and replaced with a new sign “Dogs on the Run”. UHG, this is when we got suspicious.

The Dog House is an iconic eatery for Delawareans, both young and old. From it’s nostalgic counter seating set-up, to it’s friendly staff, you won’t find a more unique atmosphere anywhere else.

I hadn’t been here in 30 years. I also didn’t remember it from 30 years ago. The dining area is a counter, so there is limited seating. They sell a lot of hot dogs at this place on a given day, it was quite amazing. Long with onions, ketchup and mustard. Knowing that you can pass judgment on me. We also shared an order of fries which were pretty decent. As far as hot dogs go, I wouldn’t say this was the best thoughts I’ve ever had, and I’m not sure that I ever really need to come back, but for a bit of nostalgia and a unique dining experience, this is probably a decent place to bring someone. If I do come back I think I will try a chili dog.

A quick stop at a place that people have been telling me to get to for months now! Grabbed a chili cheese dog and fries. The quality of the dog itself was pretty average but the toppings were good and I enjoyed the roll as well. Some people may not like this roll but it was a bit crusty and almost like a smaller hoagie roll and I liked it. The fries were crisp, hot, and had just enough salt. Solid spot for a dog, I’d go back.
