Our family of 4 (2 teens/2 adults) just had an amazing meal at The Dock! We were immediately made to feel welcome – the staff talked us through the menu and helped us choose what to try and they were super attentive our entire visit. We loved getting to chat with them! The atmosphere was casual and so peaceful by the water. The food was INCREDIBLE. So much was made with local ingredients, which I loved. We all got the V-Style Smashburgers with pimento cheese and bacon pepper jam (none of us even used condiments on the burgers because they were great just as they came) and Ranch tots. We decided to try a few different desserts and we’re hard pressed to pick a favorite. There was a warm S’Mores Stuffed cookie, a Chocolate cupcake with bourbon buttercream topped with a salted carmel bourbon glaze, and a
Bourbon pecan brownie. They were all fantastic, but the brownie was probably the absolute favorite. After glancing at their brunch menu, we all decided we’re coming back as soon as we can to give that a try also. DON’T SLEEP ON THIS ONE!

My husband and I went out for the day kayaking on the river. We decided to stop at this cozy spot right on the river. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We decided to order the Cheddar Apple Grilled Cheese, something we hadn’t tried before anywhere else. It is a perfect blend between the 2 flavors and was absolutely delicious.
We enjoyed sitting out by the water and just listening to the serene noises of the river, and although it is right next to one of the bridges, the traffic noise was not bothersome.
If you’re out on a kayak, you can tie up at the front of the restaurant. They have 5 ropes out there to tie up to. It took a little finesse, and I’m sure it was quite the sight watching me climb onto the dock from the kayak, so I suggest having someone help you if you have another person in your group.
You don’t have to be on the water to stop in. They have parking behind the restaurant and stairs to walk down to get to the restaurant. Whenever we are back in the area, we will definitely be back.

The BEST local restaurant! Family owned and operated by the best family ! I absolutely love that they source from other local farmers, so you know the quality of the meat and produce is great and you are supporting more than one small business when you eat here!
I highly recommend you try this restaurant immediately if you haven’t already. And absolutely get one of everything lol. But definitely the V style hot dog and ranch tots. Seriously the best hamburgers and hot dogs I’ve had, and I am super picky and have tried a lot of good ones:)

I had such a great time at this place! The atmosphere is really peaceful with the river and the dock. The food was amazing and super unique (like an apple grilled cheese or a bourbon blackberry cupcake). Every brand was from Kentucky or Cincinnati as well, which was a great touch. I highly recommend it!

Went to brunch with family and had a delicious meal. The owner and her daughter greeted us when we arrived and told us about each dish on the menu.
The covered dock was clean and inviting. I can’t wait to go down on a Friday or Saturday night and see the river traffic while enjoying some more great food.

Where should I begin, if you’re anywhere near Frankfort you’ve absolutely got to try this place! It is a bit hard to find but if you park behind the library and walk towards the boat ramp you won’t be sorry. They’ve got the best burger I ever ate! I wish I remembered the name of it but it had jalapenos some kind of jam and pimento cheese along with thick sliced peppered bacon, with a side of ranch tots. it was amazing! And the cupcakes were unbelievably delicious and as a rule I usually don’t like cupcakes. I can’t say enough about the hospitality of the lady who runs the place. You’re really missing out if you don’t try The Dock: A River Cafe.

Some of the best food we’ve had in Frankfort in a long time with a great family owner vibe.
Owners and their workers we very kind and food was out QUICK!
– Smash burger was awesome, delicious pasta salad, hot dog was all beef and don’t even get us started on the ranch tots!!
For the three of us, three meals and several beers and a soda we spent less than $60.
Easy to park your kayaks or to dock your boat (they have fuel too), also good parking and easy to enter from the street.
You can even feed the fish, our 10 year old loved it!
Will definitely be back!

We were visiting from out of town, looking for something local that we could only experience in Frankfort. I found The Dock online and it had perfect ratings, so we decided to give it a try. It was a beautiful day to eat right on the Kentucky River. Upon arrival, they gave my kids Halloween treat bags with candy and activities. We got smash burgers and jalapeño popper burgers. They were so good. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. They also offered bread so the kids could feed the fish while waiting and Popsicles when they had finished their meal. There was even a coloring station for the kids. The cupcakes were unique and delicious! We had such a good time trying the different flavors. This was my favorite dining experience in years. I don’t think I’ve ever had more generous service than at The Dock. They make sure you’re taken care of and then some. I was just so pleased and frankly blown away by the hospitality. Thank you for a great afternoon!

Great day for lunch on the KY river! Burgers were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The garden tomatos made it even better! We tried several of the desserts. I highly recommend the brownie with bourbon icing. Delicious!!
