Excellent flavors and very fresh ingredients. The seafood cheesesteak was a hit in our group — savory, satisfying, and unique. Service was warm and attentive, even with the heavy foot traffic. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the seafood and overall taste make it feel more justified here than some other stalls. Would definitely return.

This is hands down a wonderful surprise. This is some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in years. Australian style cod fish and chips is great. The fish and chips are both crispy and perfectly cooked. The slaw is pickled and the tartar sauce is delicious with dill in it.

Outstanding hot seafood and a fresh counter to die for, located in bustling Union Market. Met Fiona the Fishwife herself, a happy force of nature. I had the fish (cod) and chips – favorable with anything in London – and brought home several sea treats to make the NYT Cooking Feast of Seven Fishes pot pie. All excellent, sustainably sourced and competitively priced.

There are a lot of seafood menu. The fish taco is good. The fish is cooked nicely. It is moist and flaky. The taco is a bit too thick in my opinion.

This place is such a hit when I want a delicious fish sandwich. My only critique is that I wish the buns were more durable. When getting them delivered, they tend to her a little soggy. The salmon burger is the best! And the fries are a hit.

Pacific cod fish and chips with the homemade tartar sauce was SO good. The fish was perfectly fried and just fell apart in your mouth. The shrimp banh mi was also really flavorful, unique, and delicious. I would definitely come back here again, especially for the fish and chips

I had the cheese Salmon and Shrimp cheesesteak . It was really good I enjoyed it. The best part of the meal was the fries. they were crispy and soft at the same time. Perfect fry combo.

I tried the salmon donbori bowl. It was okay, but a little dry with no sauce. Just 2 pieces of salmon, some other stuff and white rice. I am giving 5 stars because it’s a unique shop and I bet the fish tacos are good, next time!

Attentive service and piping hot North Atlantic cod fish and chips only 20 minutes before closing time at the end of a busy weekend. I would definitely try this place again in the future. Some folks ask about portion size: you get two small pieces of fish, some fries and slaw for about 20 bucks.
FYI, the small seating area to the right of their beer cooler is —extraordinarily— loud even when only partially occupied, even by busy market hall standards. Don’t expect to be able to carry on a conversation unless you’re willing to shout louder than your neighbors!

The District Fishwife Review: Tasty Shrimp Banh Mi and Curled Potato Fries, but Pricey Fresh Fish
While The District Fishwife in Union Market offers a delicious shrimp banh mi with curled potato fries, it’s worth noting that the fresh fish can be somewhat expensive compared to options at Trader Joe’s or Harris Teeter in the area. Prices may be more comparable to Whole Foods on H Street.
