Had a great time at The Disgruntled Chef in Gardiner, NY. It’s got this cool vibe that’s a perfect fit for the town. The menu’s packed with creative dishes that use fresh, local stuff. Everything we tried was delicious, totally reminded us why we love exploring Hudson Valley’s food scene. Plus, the staff were super welcoming. Heads up, though – it can get a bit busy at peak times, but that’s just ’cause it’s so popular. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Gardiner!

Great local breakfast spot in Gardiner! I was pleasantly surprised with how good the avocado toast was! Very fresh avocado, delicious pickled onions, sunflower seeds, soft boiled egg, and sea salt. My husband really liked the apple turnover and breakfast sandwich.

Fortunate enough to be there for their first dinner service this weekend- food was excellent. we were a party of four- we split two salads, one mushroom risotto and one butter poached cod. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. the chef came by to say hello and was not disgruntled at all! highly recommend .

Excellent place for breakfast, lunch, take-out, and gourmet grocery items, especially their specialty coffee, which is made with Gavina gourmet beans on a very fancy Swiss coffee machine! The owners are classically trained cooks who have worked for Michelin starred chefs in Vienna, New York, Chicago and San Francisco, and only use the freshest ingredients from local, national and international purveyors. You won’t be disappointed with the coffee, which is one of the best in the Hudson Valley, nor with their freshly prepared gourmet sandwiches, salads, homemade ice cream and holiday meals. If you’re in the area, The Disgruntled Chef is well worth a detour!

Love this place. The roast beef sandwich is my go-to, but everything I’ve had is great. Heard today that they will be serving dinner a couple of nights a week starting soon. I’m excited to see the menu!

Outstanding culinary execution. Dinner is laid back easy vibe. Have used DC for holiday catering for years. Not surprised the dinner is stellar.

Macchiato was made in a tiny espresso cup like a traditional one but tasted like coffee, didn’t even hear the espresso machine running. Only vegan option was avocado toast for $10 which was avocado, pickled onions, and pumpkin seeds. Not only does that not sound enjoyable to eat but it’s super expensive for not much. Even some tomato or hot sauce would make it sound better. Even the oatmeal was premade with dairy milk. Place was cute inside but that’s about it. Just thought it would be more than it was. Name is cute though. The Julian’s provisions place doesn’t exist I’m pretty sure.

Great local place but has limited seating. Sadly, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays just like the other local restaurant in Gardiner.
