Cozy and inviting place, love the games and toys they have for the kids. You can enjoy a great made from scratch breakfast while the kids are distracted with either pinball machines or board games that are available.
The food tasted great like something you get from a nostalgic memory.
There was a little clutter in the back but I think its because they recently opened at this location. I wish they could have kept their old name or at least tied back to thier roots which gave them a connection to Midlothian Mines, and on that note, get the Charcoal Coffee! It’s coffee meets Oroes!
Pancakes could use some butter but we probably should have just asked for it. They have TouchTunes here so you can set the vibe which is awesome.
Wish there was more to walk to other than a food lion but not their fault.
Great breakfast overall, definitely will be returning to such a family orientated friendly staff.

Pricey, but worth every penny. Super clean dining area with very welcoming staff. We had ” the works” breakfast platter which had so many levels of flavor. This is the best breakfast ive ever had in this area and will be returning to try their smashburgers soon.

I hate doing this to small businesses but I have to provide an honest review. Firat time here and going by Google reviews and a 4.5 star rating, we ordered breakfast. Hot chocolate was no where near being hot and tasted like water. I got the cowboy scramble and it was so overcooked, home fries weren’t cooked through, the biscuit was an overcooked Grands. Got a side of sausage gravy due to small batch cooking, never in my life have I had sausage gravy made with Italian sausage, absolutely disgusting. Hubby got blueberry pancakes that had no flavor. Would not recommend, nor will we go back. IF YOU SCREW UP BREAKFAST, THERE IS NO HOPE.

This is a really cute and cozy family and handicapped friendly place for breakfast. This is an independently owned restaurant that cares about its community. My wife and i went there for breakfast. It has a decent little menu with simple breakfast items and coffee drinks. This cozy little shop also has a reading and board games section. They also take book and board game donations. Breakfast for two with tip was $50. Also, when I say that they are community oriented, they asked me that if anyone needs water to boil because of the water crisis in Richmond, then please send them over and they will supply anyone with as much water as they need. How wonderful it is to see a business care about their community.

This family-owned gem is easily my favorite spot in the area! The food and service are consistently top-notch, but what really sets The Diner at Cross Pointe apart is their monthly car meet. As a photographer, I love the atmosphere they’ve created for the community. Whether I’m there to shoot cars or just grab a great breakfast, the owners always make me feel welcome. Highly recommend!

Wanted to try a new spot. Delivery was great but for the price it was average. At best it’s a $5 sandwich not worth $9. And the coffee bland but it could be because I’m a Starbucks girl (if you drink Dunkin’s coffee you like there’s). Service was good and I love the inviting decor…said come stay for a while it was like being at home.

I ordered the meatloaf dinner and my wife had the roast beef panini. My meatloaf was dry and overcooked, and the gravy tasted like it came straight from a can. The coleslaw tasted spoiled, and the fries were greasy and cold, like they’d been sitting too long before being served. Major miss.
My wife’s roast beef panini is advertised as “prime,” but it definitely tasted more like choice at best. You’d expect a panini to be crisp and toasted, but this one was soggy, and there was barely any meat on it—maybe 4 oz, if that. The horsey sauce was actually good, but it couldn’t save the sandwich. Her fries were the same story: cold, greasy, and soggy.
Overall, we left disappointed and feeling like it wasn’t worth the price. I don’t recommend this place as it stands, and it seems like the kitchen seriously needs some help with quality control and execution.

Parking sure was easy to find for Coal Mine Coffee and Sweets!
We pulled right up to the front door and parked in a marked spot, for patrons only.
As soon as we entered, the owner greeted us warmly and quickly from the counter. She seated us in a booth, tucked away from the front door.
On the way in, we noticed bagged coffees and tumblers for sale.
It’s a cozy little cafe, with an espresso machine and kitchen to the left of the restaurant.
My husband is the one with a good eye. When he was cruising the menu, he noticed that they served a chocolate chip muffin.
He remembered how much I said I loved those back in college, so my mind was set!
Our server was the cafe owner, and she was friendly and took the time to discuss the menu with us. We appreciated her attentiveness. She walked us through the menu.
When she served my chocolate chip muffin, I was over the moon. Not only did it look the way I had hoped, it was warmed through and through! Melted chocolate chip goodness, here I come.
My husband’s brownie also boasted chocolate chips. It did not disappoint in that category. This brownie had a dense, rich texture, almost like a flourless cake.
As for our beverages, a large home brewed sweet tea was my husband’s pick. How refreshing it was! Not to overpower the chocolate muffin, I opted for a vanilla latte.
It was a smooth, creamy latte and perfect for an afternoon inside.
We enjoyed our trip to Coal Mine Coffee & Sweets! We’d like to go back and try something from the breakfast or lunch menu.
We know we’ll get a great parking spot!

Great place to have breakfast! We went there yesterday and had a great time. The food was awesome! Everything was fresh. It was an actual egg on the sandwich and not some frozen stuff. Fed 4 adults & 1 kid for just over $40. Thats amazing considering todays prices/inflation. The owners were fun to talk to as well, both really nice people. Going back this Saturday!
