This seems to be the best option halfway between Holland and Grand Rapids to meet friends for a meal. The place was busy, but not too long of a wait. Not loud. Decent food.

Second time visiting The Derby. The first time, I liked it. All the food I have had there thus far has been good, but – this visit I had the crab rangoon appetizer and it is, frankly, the best thing I have had in a restaurant in a couple years. Our waitress was available, but not pushy. She was wonderful. Definitely will go again.

First time here.. and it will not be the last! Excellent service… beautiful atmosphere… the food choices that we had for lunch were not only delicious…but also presented beautifully.
Gluten free options also a bonus.

Every time I eat at the Derby Tavern I have the most delicious meal! You can really tell the chef does an amazing job, especially on the sauce-work. The servers are great; Jae was our server tonight and she was attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back!
The ONLY negative about this restaurant is they don’t offer reservations, but it’s worth the wait even when it’s busy!

First time going and loved it. The staff was amazing there was no wait time to be seated are server was fast and the food and drinks were awesome. Highly recommend if you up for a chill place to eat,drink and hang out.

TLDR: a nice new place in Hudsonville with good vibes, good service, plenty of bar space, a side room with a fireplace, good atmosphere and good food.
For drinks we started with a Diet Coke and a soda water with a lemon and lime- saving our calories for dessert .
We ordered a special item, I think, for our appetizer. I don’t see an equal description on the menu pics I took, so I’m thinking it must’ve been a special. It was some sort of (crab or smoked salmon? Can’t remember) dip with pretzel chips. The dip was yummy and the pretzel chips were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside- super tasty and the textures complemented each other beautifully.
He ordered the The Greek (whipped feta spread, pickled red onions, lettuce, tomatoes finished with tzatziki on brioche bun) which he very much enjoyed, but mentioned that when he finished it, he was ready for it to be done . The flavors were bold, the quantity was appropriately filling, and it was just enough to not want more of the same flavor.
I ordered the Falafel Wrap (falafel hummus spread, marinated tomatoes, arugula, pickled red onion, house made tzatziki in pita bread) with sweet potato fries. The wrap was delicious and decently sized, but not too much. The falafel was seasoned well. The SWEET POTATO FRIES THO! They were fantastic! I believe they put brown sugar on them or something, along with salt- it was a perfectly sweet and savory combo.
For dessert, we ordered the Seasonal cheesecake -crème brûlée – he loves cheesecake and I love crème brûlée, so this was a perfect treat for us! The crispy top shell was perfectly paired against the rich cheesecake crème, and the fresh strawberry on the side was a welcome palate pleaser.
The service was good- our server was attentive, thoughtful and suggested all the right things for us.
Overall, we enjoyed our visit and will most likely visit again if we are in the area.

Very nice restaurant, their pulled pork sandwich was delicious and they have a large variety of drinks and spirits. I had a Sam Adams cherry and they added two cherries in the drink, it was phenomenal! Staff is very friendly and attentive. Wonderful atmosphere. Strongly recommended.

This place is a gem! Everything about this place is great. Lots of different menu items to choose from and there doesn’t seem to be a bad option.
Both cocktails were strong, unique and delicious.
The sandwiches are amazing and the portions are generous. The chips appear to be homemade and will not make you regret skipping the fry upgrade.
The service was also very fast, which was surprising since it was a full house.
Truly nothing to complain about at Derby, we will be back someday soon.

Stopped here on our way up to the upper Peninsula and food was great and so was the service. The bruschetta was excellent like no other ive had before. If im ever in the area again ill be sure to stop by
