Fried Brussels Sprout appetizer, Iconic Smash Burger with Tater tots, and a Bourbon Smash. The food was good and the service was quick. We were in for an early dinner (around 4) and were sat right away. Reservations are recommended if you are coming in much later. Live music on Fridays.

I love the Depot. Come in for a slice of Midwest Americana. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I especially love their fries. Not your basic French fries. The Depot “elevates” your food experience to another level. Live music sometimes (I haven’t figured out the schedule yet) and a great bar. You can even rent the second floor for large parties. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. I doubt you’ll regret it.

We were here for lunch before attending our grandson Owen’s music concert. Jess was our server and she was very friendly and courteous and did a great job. My wife had the Mac Cheese Smash Burger minus onion and loved it. I had the 1906 Smash Burger w/o onion. It was so good, just enough spice on the slaw to add some heat. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and we will be back.

UPDATE 3/9/2023: Last nights dinner at The Depot was a dealbreaker for me. I ordered Caesar Salad with steak, and the steak was spoiled-had gone bad. I had my husband taste it as well and after he put it in his mouth, he spit it out. Ugh. The manager checked the dates on the meat and found it was past. She did comp me the salad and replacement wings, and said they threw the rest of the meat out. However my stomach was too upset to eat the wings- which turned out to be breaded chicken nuggets (see pic). The rest of my family had no problems but we won’t be back.

I took my wife here for an anniversary lunch. We had gone on the recommendation of friends who raved about the boneless chicken wings. We ordered a pound and a half of three different kinds. It took a while for us to get even our cups of water, and when the food came the chicken wings were so salty they were inedible. They also tasted like they may have used old frying oil. They basically all tasted the same, extremely salty. When our waiter came by to ask how our food was, he did not even stop to listen to my answer and had to double back to hear that the food was no good. When I explained that it tasted badly and we were finished (we ate about a third), his only response was “so you’re really not going to take it?” He then, without comment, unceremoniously removed the plates from our table, and disappeared for 10 to 15 minutes. We had no idea what was going on. We didn’t know whether they were going to bring new food, refund the meal, or nothing. We were just left to sit. Eventually the waiter returned and slapped the receipt on our table with the nuggets removed, again without comment. We then waited another 10 minutes for the waiter to return for the card. I literally called a friend to ask if I was supposed to take the receipt up to the front because I waited so long and had no idea what we were supposed to do, if not, wait for the waiter to return. We will definitely not be returning, the service was horrible. The actual meat in the wings was good, but rendered inedible by the sauce. It’s a shame, because we had heard such good things about a local business in a town we love.

Everything we had was fresh, hot and delicious. Emma took great care of us at the bar. We also had a great conversation with the manager, but I failed to get her name.The look of the place is open and airy. This was our first time but we will definitely be back.
