The wine selection was very disappointing. Not even a dozen wines. No one enjoyed the Tuscan Sella Antica we ordered. Two wines from Paso Robles which is odd given how small the list is.
Service was excellent. (Female, dark hair, short).
Seriously though: Luci is a rock star!
P.S. The chocolate cake was phenomenal. 🙂
The Shirley Temple was pretty. The hamburger was a little too pink.
Don’t ask for medium if you don’t like your burger to be half pink.
Fries were some of the best I have ever had.
There were cute lights on the table too.
**Update. Now there’s a weekend brunch! The brioche french toast is yummy and can probably be split for 2 people. It’s filling.
When we ordered, I noticed other pictures on the internet showed the $10 burger to be just the meat, cheese, thousand island sauce and bun (and one lonely pickle pinned to the top of the bun). I wanted some veggies on my burger too so I added onion, tomato and lettuce. I subbed a Caesar salad for the fries.
I was prepared to either be disappointed or get a huge bill at the end of the meal.
Results in a nutshell: The burger was good. The fries were good. The salad was pretty bad (try the house salad at urban field – holy crap it’s good and huge!) and the bill was very respectable. All in all, we paid around $27 for the meal for two people after tax and tip. Kudos for them subbing the Caesar salad for the fries with no additional charge! That was a surprise for sure. The add-on tomato on the burger was two cherry tomatoes cut in half, so yea it was tomato, but not a thick, juicy slice of tomato that you’d expect on a cheeseburger.
They have some really good looking options like salmon and other stuff that are in the $20-$30 range per plate, but I didn’t have those, so I can’t say if they were any good or not.
Service is good, but a little slow. Not sure if we looked like bad tippers or something maybe but our water refills were very slow.
We made reservations but when we arrived, they said we could be in the bar area. That wasn’t ideal with 2 little munchkins, so they accommodated us in dining area but quite squeezed.
My short rib meal tasted yummy but I got about 4 bite-sized meat pieces, which didn’t match the cost of the entree. I was hoping for lots more meat.
I had to get up and find a waitress to give us a few crackers with our oyster app. We got one small package of oyster crackers, which felt stingy.
My suggestions include a better reservation experience, more generous food portions, and more wait service. When prices go up, one’s expectations also rise.
So far, the Wednesday night hamburger deal is the best.
Im from the East Coast and my husband and I are constantly complaining about the lack of good restaurants with caring service in CO. Well, we tried this place on a Thursday night and we were blown away.
The hostesses were so accommodating and welcoming.
We had the oysters, calamari, burger w/ truffle fries, kale &apple salad with a chocolate cake to go for dessert… everything was spectacular.
Our server (I can’t remember her name for the life of me, Amy?) was wonderful. She took great care of us and timed our meal perfectly. We never felt rushed or neglected as she was the perfect balance of attentive. She was all smiles and hospitality.
The ambiance is cozy and clean. We had a nice little booth by a window. The Dining Room was packed but not too noisy.
This place is a gem and we are so grateful to found it… we will most certainly be back!!
