If you are anywhere near the area, this is the only sandwich shop you should be going to. The Deli Lama is locally owned while making the tastiest sandwiches. The kids and I love the homemade yogurt as well. I had no idea that mango candamom would become my favorite flavor until I tried it here.

Today was our first time trying this little deli in Lake Villa. I was excited because I love supporting local places, but disappointed sadly. Pros: The sandwiches were on point, the Brooklyn and the Italian beef were awesome and so delicious. The store has a pretty good selection of items and NA beer which is nice at lunchtime. Cons: I don’t know if it was the owner or what but the man who helped us acted as if he had never seen children before. I brought my 4 kids and while they were a bit wound up because they were hungry he definitely scolded them more than once. I almost at one point just wanted to tell him to stop making our sandwiches and I was going to book it out of there because I felt so uncomfortable with the way that he was basically disgusted by my children. I wouldn’t recommend for families.

After reading reviews, we had to discover for ourselves the deliciousness within. One Brooklyn sandwich piled high with layers of meats, cheese, and veggies. One Hot Pastrami filled with onion, mustard, and tasty Pastrami. Of course, we sampled the famous yogurts too. Wow! We were blown away by the creamy freshness. Blueberry lemon and also Dark chocolate cherry just had to come home with us.
The owner was very pleasant, too. Our new Deli for sure.

Hands down the best sandwiches in Lake County with unique selections that you can only find at this shop. The Tandoori Chicken sandwich is outstanding and the owner always pays close attention to detail and quality, ensuring that every bite packs flavor and consistency. There are a ton of great selections on the menu. Be sure to try one of his artisan hand-crafted yogurts as well, they’re all delicious. If you are a beer aficionado the Deli Lama also has hard-to-find craft beers and you can choose any beer when building your own 6-pack. Please don’t hesitate to make your way over and try a bit of everything!

If you’re looking for a sandwich of high quality and care when putting it together look no further, I was gonna go to Jimmy John’s for their new Caprese sandwich and I am so glad that I stopped here instead. This is the best Caprese sandwich I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to get back and try their other sandwiches. The gentleman who helped me. I’m not sure if he’s the owner or not but super super nice guy, he gave me samples to try, everything was so fresh and you can tell when it’s homemade, out of this world. This is definitely my new favorite sandwich shop.

After driving by a million times, I finally decided to stop in for a sandwich. I got the Napa Signature, so good! Love that it had fresh mozzarella on it versus sliced cheese. I also wanted to try their yogurt. The guy (I’m assuming the owner) asked if I had tried it before and I said no so he asked if I wanted to try some samples. The blueberry lemon was amazing, but I love mango so I went with the mango cardamom flavor. Woah, its super freaking good, bursting with flavor and oh so creamy! This place is definitely a hidden gem!
