The restaurant now also hosts private parties, offering an intimate and carefully curated setting for refined gatherings. Menus for these occasions are tailored with discretion, allowing guests to explore both classic signatures and off-menu creations. Service remains polished and unobtrusive, ensuring the focus stays on the cuisine and the company. The result is a composed dining experience that honors Mughlai heritage while elevating it for a modern, discerning palate.
The food was so good that every bite made us pause and appreciate it. Rich, well-balanced spices, perfectly cooked dishes, and that unmistakable comfort-food feeling you expect from great Indian cuisine. If you’ve been searching for genuinely satisfying North Indian food in DFW, this place is a must-visit.
Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back again and again!
The ambience is beautifully curated—a tasteful retro-inspired design paired with elegant interiors creates a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere. It sets the tone for a premium dining experience and makes the restaurant well suited for business lunches, special occasions, or relaxed upscale dining.
The food was exceptional and unquestionably the highlight of the visit. The Arugula Patta Chaat stood out for its balance and creativity—crisp textures layered with tangy, sweet, and savory notes, complemented by fresh greens and vibrant chutneys. It was both visually appealing and thoughtfully executed.
The Galouti Paneer Kebab with Cranberry Launji was equally impressive. The kebabs were soft, well-seasoned, and delicately spiced, while the cranberry launji added a subtle sweet-tart contrast that elevated the dish beautifully. Presentation and flavor were both on point, reflecting finesse and attention to detail.
Overall, the experience felt upper-crust and indulgent; however, the service could be improved. While polite, it did not consistently match the level of attentiveness and polish expected from a restaurant of this caliber.
In summary, The Delhi Lounge excels in ambience and cuisine, delivering a truly elevated Indian dining experience. With some refinement in service execution, it has the potential to be outstanding. I would gladly return and recommend it to those seeking sophisticated Indian flavors in an elegant setting.
The food was amazing. Every dish that arrived at our table was a work of art. The presentation was impeccable. The taste was absolutely phenomenal. There was a perfect blend of spices in every bite—rich and aromatic without being overpowering. You can taste the authenticity and the high quality of ingredients used.
The service was equally impressive—swift and genuinely friendly. The staff were attentive to our needs, ensuring our meal progressed smoothly and adding a warm, personal touch to the experience.
If you are looking for top-tier Indian cuisine where the food tastes as good as it looks, I highly recommend The Delhi Lounge. It is a gem that I will definitely be visiting again soon.
This is a detailed review, but I will sum up with a few key impressions:
Beautiful > Suave > Chic > Warm > Stylish > Amazing drinks > Scrumptious food > Abundant choices > An exhilarating experience of Delhi cusine > in short AWESOME
I was visiting Dallas on a business trip and had heard much about the Lounge, which is in Irving. Being from Delhi, I had a natural curiosity to check it out. While I am by no means a food connoisseur, I do live in NYC, am married to a wonderful lady whose brother is a celebrity chef, and have eaten at many of the Michelin Star restaurants in NYC. Without any hesitation, I have to say this ranks amongst the best indian restaurants I have ever been to in the US.
To start with, the ambiance is spectacular, close to my heart, as I have lived all my life in Delhi before moving to the US 30 years ago. The wall to wall Rajputian, the intricate woodwork, lighting, and one of the best bars I have seen in my life combined to make a start of a beautiful evening.
The host, Manish Mehrotra, is suave, very friendly and pays great attention to the guests. When asked what we would like to eat, we had two requests / we wanted to eat very thing and we wanted to have enough vegetarian food as half of us were vegetarian.
They accommodated us in both requests. They didn’t have a tasting menu (I’d strongly recommend that they add that) but made one especially for us. But don’t forget spect that, as they may not be able to do it for parties of all shapes and sizes 🙂
The bar looks amazing, set distinctively in a corner and occupying nearly half of the room. The larger dining and seating area is at the main enterance so I can’t say much about it except that it was packed on a Thursday night.
Now, on to the cuisine
– Drinks – the bartender made me one of the best old-fashioneds I have ever had. I asked him to “make something unique”. And he did.
– Appetizers > bhutte ki seekh was unique and amazing. Jackfruit shami kabab was delicious and it is unique in that a jackfruit kabab is not something you would eat elsewhere. Barrah lamb shops melted in the mouth
– Entrées >
Veg – egg plant Bharat had just the right flavor of roasted egg planted that makes all the difference. TDL black dal was thick, creamy and delicious
Jackfruit berry pulao was another surprise to accompany the dishes. Fantastic.
Non-veg – Spiced prawn curry was, well spicy, and had amazing flavor. Patiala goat curry mmmmm to good. I won’t rate the butter checked as I want to stick to the unique flavors. But it was great as well.
Dessert > I am not much of a dessert person, but we shared desserts and the pineapple Ras malai was my favourite.
I would highly recommend that you don’t just read this – go there and be prepared to be amazed!
We were welcomed and guided to our seats upon arrival.
Our host did make sure we understood the most popular and must try dishes in the menu.
We tried roti and methi chaman as we wanted to try something lighter.
The rotis were so smooth and buttery. I could eat them without any curry. The curry tasted great as well.
I would recommend this restaurant for some fine dining and traditional culinary experience.
The arugula patta chaat was the clear standout and easily the best dish we had. Unfortunately, the entrées didn’t live up to expectations. The Awadhi chicken tikka felt overcooked and stale, and the Patiala goat curry used cuts that weren’t great, making the dish quite underwhelming.
Service was another downside. It was very slow, with a wait of nearly 25 minutes. Despite the reservation being for four adults and a child, we were seated at a very small table and had to separately request a kids’ plate, water cups, and cutlery—things you’d expect to be provided proactively. The water served wasn’t cold, ice wasn’t offered, and it tasted like tap water. The ambience was also very bright and uninviting for a holiday celebration.
I might give this one another try and update to see if it could be more memorable.
We started the evening with some small plates, and the Paneer Galouti was an absolute dream.
The texture was incredibly smooth, perfectly complemented by the tartness of the Cranberry Launji.
Then came the Pani Puri, which provided that classic, refreshing crunch we were all craving.
It was a great opening act that set the bar high for the rest of the meal.
Moving into the heavier dishes, the Winter Kofta Curry was a total soul-warmer.
The koftas were delicate, and the sauce had a wonderful depth that felt perfect for the season.
We also tried the TDL Daal, and honestly, it was one of the best parts of the night.
It had that rich, comforting, slow-cooked flavor that you just can’t rush.
the Ginger Cranberry Paneer Korma didn’t quite live up to the others.
While the concept was interesting, the flavors felt a bit disjointed and “average” at best.
It lacked the punch and balance that made the Galouti and the Daal stand out so much.
But even with that one slight dip, the overall experience was still a massive success.
The combination of the rich Daal and the Kofta made for a truly satisfying main course.
I’d definitely return, though I’ll be doubling down on the starters and the TDL Daal next time.
