The other night, craving Indian food but uninspired by my usual rotation of local spots, I found myself thinking back to a place I hadn’t visited in ages: Delhi Hut.
What would I have. Ah, yes. Indo‑Chinese sounded perfect.
I called in an order for Manchurian Chicken and Hakka Chicken Noodles, making a point to request the dishes hot, truly spicy.
When I arrived, my order was ready right on time.
Delhi Hut operates as takeout‑only, so I grabbed the bag and headed toward my truck.
I thought, wow – This bad is heavy.
Since, I was so hungry, I need to sample some food before I got home.
Right?
The portions were astonishing.
I’d ordered two entrées out of habit—too many restaurants serve portions that barely qualify as a meal.
They are more like an appetizer.
Delhi Hut, however, delivered enough food for dinner that night and two generous lunches the following days.
Both dishes were deeply flavorful, the kind of Indo‑Chinese comfort food that hits all the right notes.
My lone critique: the spice level.
Despite my request, the heat landed squarely in “white‑man hot” territory.
Next time, I’ll be explicit—Asian‑man hot, please.
And yes, there will absolutely be a next time.

We have been missing out on Indian food since many past weeks. Then we came to know about this place and damn, it was sooo sooo good! It’s very fortunate to get to eat such good Indian food in NZ. Especially the aloo paratha. I don’t remember if I’ve had such a good paratha even in India.

I recently visited their new location and snapped a few pics of some of their popular dishes. The quality and freshness is superb for the inexpensive prices. Owner/chef Bittu and his wonderful wife, Satveer were wonderful and accommodating. I was lucky enough to eat the tandoori chicken and the garlic naan. So delicious. The spice on the tandoori was mild but bold. I highly recommend you Canton residents come and try their dishes. Let them know Brian sent you.

Excellent food and service. I ordered the garlic Naan and lamb curry with rice… wow!
Lamb is super tender and the Naan is cooked perfectly. I got the lamb medium done, and medium spice. It does have a heat kick for the medium spice and leaves a little after burn on your lips, but it is tasty! Large portion, can be shared between 2 people in my opinion.
I was a little sad that I wasn’t able to eat in there, it was take out only when I went in. But not a huge deal.
Highly recommend and will be back the next time I’m craving Indian food
