Came here on Christmas day with my Gran, this is our usual Sunday carvery spot so we knew we were in for a treat but they really excelled today. The food was amazing, the chefs are friendly. Staff were really accommodating and made us feel very welcome and Christmassy! 10/10

We went for an all you can eat Sunday roast and there was no need to even go up a second time, even with my massive appetite. There was a selection of turkey, beef, gammon and pork and you could have as much of each as you wanted and they were all cooked beautifully (I didnt try the turkey). The men on the station were very generous (one of them noting he doubted id manage a second plate and he was right!) and the veg was also great, roasties, carrots, parsnips, stuffing, mashed carrots and swede, cabbage and cauliflower cheese. Tasty and great service although it didnt require too much.

A real find while on a recent visit to Guernsey. Had been many years since I’d been but I was advised they did a good gluten free fish and chips. Well I certainly was not disappointed. They were fabulous and not only the food but all the procedures in place for people with allergies. Managed have to be commend. Was so impressed went back for Sunday lunch. Again was fabulous. Highly recommend!

Visited The Deerhound for a Sunday carvery which is most definitely the best on the island!!
And found out that they were offering the Tennerfest so we went back Tuesday for another meal!
But we are so glad we did! Because we had a very tasty meal and was spoilt for choices!
Everything tasted amazing and was so beautifully served, tasted great, was hot when it was supposed to be and not left waiting for ages in between meals, it was faultless!!
Craig and Team couldn’t do enough for us, super attentive and so friendly, felt very welcome and comfortable as always.
With out a shadow of a doubt we are always incredibly taken care of, and that bread and butter pudding is simply the best so glad it’s back on the menu
Thank you to all at The Deerhound, for your superb service at your cosy establishment, looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

We are a group of ” ladies that brunch” We get together every week and have tried and tested every establishment in Guernsey serving breakfast! Some places are favourites, some we’ve only been once! I have to say without a shadow of a doubt, The Deerhound is definitely on our favourites list, the food is freshly cooked, generous portions and Craig and the team are so welcoming and friendly. Well worth a visit but don’t all go at once because we don’t want to not be able to get a table!

Had the seasonal special pie, turkey ham and leek. It was delicious and portion size was perfect. Generous but not overwhelming. Highly recommended.

This was our first visit whilst visiting family. We were greeted by Beatrice who managed to accommodate us as we’d not booked. The food was excellent and reasonably priced with good portions. All the staff we encountered were friendly and we never felt rushed to leave despite being the last people in the restaurant. We’ll definitely be back when we visit again in the summer.

Unfortunately we were disappointed with this visit for lunch which is a shame as we have been before and had no issue.

Our black pudding scotch egg with tamarind sauce was a very weird combination of flavours that just didn’t work and not something we would order again. Our other starter of white bait and calamari was overcooked and greasy.

On to the mains, the chicken burger and fries were nice enough but again greasy and it didn’t taste like it was cooked in fresh oil. The other main, chicken and chorizo pie special with mash and greens. Awful. The chicken in the pie was dry as a bone and had one slice of chorizo. The mash hadn’t seen any butter and the veg was so undercooked it was practically raw. It was also served with a beef gravy which we thought was odd.

When we arrived we asked to be seated elsewhere which was accommodated. The waiters were friendly although we found it odd that they didn’t pour our first glass of wine from the bottle we bought. It was just plonked on the table with our glasses for us to open and pour. As regular eat outers and foodies, this was weird to us.

We did complain about all of the above and they gave us 20% off our food bill but we won’t be back in a hurry unfortunately.
